it seems so.canada never saw the "flat top oval slot" baseplate.we got the flat top prewar one and the the rounded top post war one.i may search for one in the future.england only saw the rounded post war in 1949.

 

Today I got a 1969 Gillette short handle Super Adjustable, 10 Rainbow blades and not shown is Razor Emporium’s Psycho Tech key replica.

It looks good. Only complaint is that the TTO mechanism can be a bit tough to open and close. I’m currently using spray cleaners like scrubbing bubbles. Any advice on how else to fix that problem?

 

sometimes due to the aluminum handles they can corrode inside.could be just soap build up as well.soak in dish soap and water for a few hours and see what happens..

 

Like Gary said, soak it in soapy water. I use an old insulated coffee cup and fill it up with as hot water as the tap will make. I have that same razor and it was kinda stiff to open with wet hands. I soaked it I let it sit open for a day or so to make sure it was good and dry then added a few drops of mineral oil and worked it open and closed. Now, it works perfect. I picked up a cheap ultrasonic cleaner from Harbor Freight and I'll tell ya, it saves a bunch of time and scrubbing.

Bought a Gillette Slim Aristocrat since I finally found one for cheaper than buying a slim and replating it in gold.

Two items arrived today. Russian copy of the Gillette Black Beauty and a lightweight three piece razor, made by @twhite, . I'll be calling it the "TNAC" (Tom's Not Another Creation) razor................
