Can’t wait to see your creation, Evan! Sorry to hear yesterday was a little rough, at least today went well.

Good evening guys! Yes, I know I did a shave report this morning for my face, but out of boredom and necessity, I decided to headshave this evening. Normally, I don't report headshaved unless I do an above the shoulder shave. However, you will understand why I am reporting this shave
    Headshave lineup
    Van Der Hagen TTO Razor
    Rockwell DE Blade (1)
    Cremo Shave Cream Sandalwood
Old Spice AS P and G Edition
I like using Cremo because I don't want to use 2 brushes in one day. Cremo is also very slick that any razor will glide off my dome. The only negative is that the Sandalwood scent is non-existent. However, it just means that I can use any aftershave. Did my normal 3 passes of WTG, XTG and ATG with touchups to get cueball smooth. I usually don't use the VDH razor because I don't feel it is aggressive enough for me for any shave, let alone a headshave. I have gotten good shaves with this razor, but tonight the razor performed better than ever. So, I guess that I have to use this razor more often. I admit that I have treated this razor as a third rate razor. It is, but I have a little more appreciation for it. Anyway, I splashed the Old Spice on the noggin and was happy with the result. Yes, I know that I went off my Antique/Adjustable April theme, but I got a nice headshave and that's what counts.

I’ll be preordering a Tradere on Saturday! I assume you will as well. It'll be something worth waiting for, but I’m pretty sure it’ll take a lot longer for delivery than the 4-6 weeks promised!

Great head shave, Joe! I always shave both! Glad it went well. My Feather Popular ($14) is an incredible shaver with a Feather loaded, and quite cost-effective.

    Great shave, Joe!
The VDH TTO doesn't feel as good in hand or on my face as most of my other razors but in all honesty it shaves just as well.
Yeah, I'll be ordering a Tradere and I too would be surprised to have it in six weeks. Pre-orders seem to usually work that way.

Thanks Jeff! The VDH is in the same price point as the Feather Popular. I don't shave my head and face every day so it is difficult to sync the shaves because I let the head go for at least 3 to 4 days. The reason that I headshave is to save money on haircuts and to have the option to stall a headshave and still be socially acceptable with 4 days growth. Don't get me wrong. I like headshaving, but I get better results if I don't headshave for 3 or more days. I don't own clippers so I don't forgo headshaving for any significant length of time.

I love the RA as well. Great shave with it today....Feathers do make it rough though. And.....depending on whose custom razor you're looking at, that would be a bargain Evan! :happy088: (and you get to keep some cool tools).

I may order one to give it a try. The PAA Switchback 400 is also 24mm size. If it's the same bristles as the T3, I could probably deal with it.

I agree with you on the feel of the hsndle. The knurling doesn't give you a secure grip. The VDH TTO is great as a travel razor. Tonight's shave gave me another alternate headshave razor. However, it will never replace the ShakeSharp, the Model T or the 6C for headshaves or face shaves.

i could learn to replate them myself..in the end i spent less buying mint sets than sending out worn or bent razors.just me i guess.i spent less restoring nicer cars than rusty ones.there are always exceptions..:)

With MAY-hem just around the corner, I'm sure there will be a couple of eventful shaves--I'm that kid everybody always dared to jump of the roof because they knew I would

Joe was really onto something if you're the kind of person that finds chilliness refreshing ;)

No doubt I have not saved any money plating them myself. Thankfully that was never the goal. Mint originals are certainly more awesomer. I have a couple, but nothing that compares to your collection.

I hear if you rub a 16 penny nail on the sidewalk enough you can shave with it.
