The razor handle is a Rod George custom design. The razor head is a Maggards V3. Thanks.

Class of '88 ("I've had the time of my life"... *ugh*), here. I was born on the borderline, so they gave my folks the option to start a year early or a year late. My mom opted to hang onto me for an additional year, then (according to her) immediately regretted it. I totally understand, though--you start to feel self conscious of all your flaws when there is an angel living in the house 24/7 ;)

That's pretty much what I gathered from your earlier descriptions (and is a pretty smart way to start off, says I)--you can go full-on Hephaestus later ;)

We did the same thing with my son. He was born at the end of December and we hung on to him for the extra year as well. It was a very good decision.

Grumpy, my alter ego, seriously he is probably my favorite Disney character. You can find Rod George's stuff on Etsy under RGshavedesings. Also, he can do custom designs. The accompanying picture is a birthday gift for my brother's 60th birthday I had Rod (Razor/Brush metalwork) and Leo Frilot (Brush) . Such quality workmanship

    Shavette Shave #55

    Gear
    • Razor: Max Headroom Focus R21 Shavette
    • Blade: Derby Premium (2)
    • Brush: Stirling Finest Badger
    • Soap: Stirling Iced Pineapple (iced)
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue (iced + 1 Frost Drop)--both Gary @brit and Keith @Keithmax had suggested refrigerating my AV, but fearing the wrath of the Missus, I instead decided to simply place the bottle in the iced water during my shave. Worked like a charm! Chilled AV is incredibly pleasant.
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave...
Did the ice water thing again today, and will probably continue to do so indefinitely for at least 3 of the 4 seasons. That first application of chilled lather is wonderful, and an ice water rinse to finish things off is equally wonderful. The splash of chilled AV was so refreshing I opted for another shot (minus the Frost Drop). Topped it off with some Glacial Unscented balm, and I’m ready for anything. Which is fortunate, because that is exactly what I’ve come to expect from my children during these distancing days.

3 passes today (WTG, XTG, and ATG), and I’ll probably stick with the 3 passers so long as I manage to keep the irritation at bay. Again, somewhere between BBS and DFS (though the chin is slightly rougher than it was yesterday. Not a weeper-free shave, but nothing that required the blood-stopping power of the styptic either.

Super excited to find out what the theme of May will be. I’ll still be working the shavette for the next couple months, but I’m hoping to find a way to participate or at the very least show some solidarity with the crew.

Enjoy the rest of your April, folks! :D

Wow, Joe--Rod does fantastic work! Awesome brush and razor handle set--grippy and artistic all at the same time--very cleverly designed.
