2020 Shavette Focus Shaves # 33 & 34

I'm getting error- and irritation-free, mostly DFS results with my two-pass shaves. I've given up touch-ups for now, and I'm trying not to shave un-lathered skin. In other words, I'm trying for two honest passes with the intent of genuinely and consistently improving my technique. I always respect the shavette, but I'm at a point where I don't worry about cuts. Instead, I'm confident enough to try different stretches and strokes to see how I can improve. If I can get a two-pass epic BBS on my cheeks, that tells me it's possible everywhere. It's just a matter of improving my technique.

I was hurried getting out the door this morning for my supply run, so my chin could be closer. Hurrying erases good technique.

One more day, and my 400 ml bottle of Floid Vigoroso will be history, and I had to squish all the Eufros soap into a mini-puck. It always feel satisfying to finish off products. Both of these are winners, IMO, but probably not ones I'll repurchase.

I took advantage of some beautiful May weather and had an early morning bike ride and a walk this afternoon with my Bride. My knees and legs are not talking to me as much today (like they did on my first bike ride), so I must be making progress. I hope everyone had a fantastic day and a hearty dose of sunshine.

 

Sounds like that razor kicked your butt. Lol

 

It was actually three different razors and three separate butt-kickings.

 

About the top one....I had surgery on one trigger finger-now the other one is an issue. Have yet to decide about surg on this one.

Thanks Jim. Kathy and I have English-made folding bikes. They're kinda strange looking, but they pack up easy for trips, and they are fun to ride.

They weigh about 25 lbs each, and they both pack up small enough to fit in the trunk. This is a photo of them partially unfolded. Mine is the black one with the molded leather saddle. They tell me saddle will mold to my shape...it ain't done that yet. I may get it flamed if I start riding faster.

Awesome shaves Charlie! It's a great place to be where you don't worry about cutting yourself. Being comfortable to be able to try different placements of the razor will improve your shaves exponentially.

 

Fantastic photo and report, Jeff--I'd not heard of the Eclipse Red Ring before. It's a beautiful razor. Glad to hear it shaves as good as it looks

 

And thank you for your response--there may be a kamisori far into my future, and I'm trying to work through the grind possibilities.

 

I'm embarrassed to say it, but I've almost made the same mistake recently. When I get in a hurry, I just look at the color of the avatar box rather than taking the .005 seconds to actually read the name underneath it. Did the same thing with Andrew @SilverSwarfer and Terry @Terry--black and white photos of men... close enough!

Gary's 3-a-day avatar changes have been keeping me honest, though
