    Morning everyone.

Jim, I hate it when things like that happen. Certainly makes keeping in budget a hassle. Hope the plumber can come out in a timely fashion and will work with you on the post-dated check.

Jason, glad you like the Ranger Tech. I haven't tried one yet, but have issues with TTO shaves. I am still recovering from irritation started with a 40's SS almost a week ago. (I should probably skip shaving for a day or so...)

    Morning..

I agree. the TTO just does not do well for me. I have my grand fathers 57 SS I need to shave with. Have not used it in a long time.. might break it out for the shave this morning.

What blades have you used in them?
I love my 40's SS (technically a '51) with the exception of the head height making it difficult to get under my nose.
Oddly enough, I believe a Feather was the best choice I found for mine.

Oh, and thanks for the 'good morning', sadly it's not going to be so great when I get off work.
My truck has a tire going flat so I've been riding the motorcycle to work.
I have an appointment at the tire shop this morning, but first I have to ride home in this frickin' storm that's moving through.
One of these days I'm going to get some contingency rain gear to keep in my locker here at work.

Ugh, sorry to hear about the tire. It looks like a lot of us are having bad luck at things lately. Not to make light of your situation, but it when it rains it pours around here. Here is hoping things start looking up for everyone!

I have tried many blades in superspeeds. I have tried many models of SS. They just don't give me a good enough shave. A 40's gets me the closest to an acceptable shave; however, I made the mistake of trying to much (an extra buffing pass on a 47 SS) and that started some irritation. Then I tried a new razor and didn't take it easy and made things a bit worse. Oh well, this is why I stick to three piece open combs. But every now and then I want to try the SS again. Yeah... I got funny skin like that, I can't use what we suggest to newbies, but have no problem with the razors that many won't touch.

Have y'all tried the 7 O'clock Yellows? just curious what the thoughts on them are in here.

I really liked them at first, so I ordered 100+. Then I realized that they didn't last long. Just like Feathers, the first shave was excellent, the second was OK, the third was bad. Again, my skin & beard are just funny like that. I have read many a SOS post where people are getting many many shaves off a 7 O'Clock Yellow (some guys in the dozens); however, I am lucky to get to the third. I just recently sold off what I had left in them.

I think Rodd is one of the people who gets a large number of shaves off a yellow.

I get 4 shaves from them seems like. Had about 20 sent to me as a gift.

On a none shaving note. I finally remembered to pic up a bottle of butane to refill my IM Corona spark lighter.. not sure how old this thing is but was part of the stuff I got from my great aunts, so bets are it is up there some. maybe one of the early Japanese built refillable butane lighters.

Yikes. I am sorry to hear that Jim. Hope things work out OK.

Love them. To me they seem sharp as a Feather, but smoother. The first few shaves they are crazy sharp, but they stay comfortable for me for a long time. I end up replacing them weekly, but just because I feel like I should. I think I got two weeks out of one once. Want a free pack? PM your address.

That would be me. :) It is strange how blades are so different depending on what face they are shaving. I guess it is like they always say... Burnwood.

Thanks for the offer Rodd.. but I have 5 packs a friend sent.. I love the things.. I still use the wal mart dollar sto things the most for what little DE shaving I do .. but the yellows are nice

The Jim is tired. Didn't sleep much, fretting over the plumbing - not so much the plumbing, but the budgetary concern that follows. Guess I'll have to sell another kidney - but I've already sold three, wonder where I'll get the next one?

Also, some pretty decent storms rolled through last night. Storms usually don't wake me up unless:
    A) I'm not sleeping well anxious on a problem
    B) I'm sleeping very lightly because I know severe storms are in the area

The Jim shouldn't be anxious over these petty things, but Jim is.

And the Jim is tired, did I mention that?

[slash]Tinman[/slash] Micah, how's the heart today?

Ahh sorry that you did not sleep that well. I have not even tried.. I stayed up, have already changed the oil in my truch, and have to go pick up my compadre from work in an hour and half.. time for a nice hot bath and a shave after the mechanical work this morning.

Then have a half night at work tonight woohoo!!!

I got an PM asking about why I use BULLY... thought everyone knew what that ment......... Wonder if there will be complaints?

Surely you set them straight, old chap? Perhaps an easy recommendation would be to suggest they watch Night at the Museum, as a start?
