Karl, I’m sad to say that your experience with current hard English soaps is the same as mine. Pens, whatever. D. R. Harris hard soaps are better but not as good as the creams. Try the new. Cyril Salter hard soap, it’s pretty good and only $6-7.

I don’t get it. No one that shaves with a soap would ever make one like the 3T hard soaps. They aren’t using their own products. And Floris hard soaps are especially disappointing because they smell divine - but no lather.

Tremendous shave... and it did catch me a little by surprise :).

This Veritable Vincent had a slight frown, which did correct with the create the edge/kill the edge “rinse and repeat” cycle. Took longer than I thought, but it got there and then some.

Razorock came through with a slick Don Marco soap for a glorious shave. Nice when you have truth in advertising... “Les Roi des Tranchants” is indeed the King of Sharp. :happy036:

Continuing to test stones from the Sonoma trip, this one and its tomo is a winning combo - and hard Swedish steel likes it too. The razor is a Gold Monkey, and the soap was ABC hard soap followed by ABC balm.

Yesterday was shave #102 with the Filly 14 Sub Cero.

Nice shave, from an uncommon Near Wedge, from Carl Monkhouse. This delivered a DFS from a 2 pass shave, on 4 days growth. Well built, and solid razor.

Razor- "C-MON", by Carl Monkhouse. Ellicottville NY.
    Brush- @oscar11 creation, w/synthetic knot
    Soap- ARKO stick
    Aftershave- Pinaud Clubman

Fibe performance from the Sheffield steel. This brush is so great that I’m already excited about the next lather. I might shave before it’s necessary.

A little more show than go... not horrible, but the last few shaves spoiled me. We can fix that :)
