Beautiful, Mark! The WRH7 handle is the best looking handle in all of shavedom in my opinion.

Tim- phenomenal shave and one great report. Currently, 10 boars in the den. The newest one will make it’s debut tomorrow. I like the boats better than my badgers.

Two different shavettes. Getting BBS/DFS+ with either. No irritation. Minor weepers every now and then. You’ve arrived.

Sure, there may be a bad shave, but those will be very few, or from an external cause. Straight razors, kamisori razors will be a minimal difference in muscle memory or grip.

With respect to straight razor maintenance, I’m going to respectfully disagree with some. Yes, it’s a necessary evil time consumer. But, shaving with an open edge is the more challenging learned skill. The crimson spillage is mostly over. Any damage now is more likely to a razor edge that can almost always be corrected, a strop piece that can be replaced, etc. When first starting out with open edges, my hands were never quivering, nor blood pumping, or adrenaline rushing when taking an open razor to a strop or hone. ;)

Nice shave Joe! Totally agree. A nice shave turns a dreary day into a better day.

Very nice Mark! Awesome setup for your shave!

I agree! However, my advice to a new straight razor shaver is that stropping is not difficult to learn because you have to do it every time to prep your blade. Yes, you will nick the strop, bu5 thaf's part of the process. Buy a shave ready straight razor from a reputable vendor or send it out to get it professionally honed so you have a standard to compare when you finally hone it yourself. Treat your fabric with chromium oxide (Crox) to refresjh your blade. You will not have to hone your razor for many months if you strop properly, use a good shaving technique and refresh the blade as soon as you feel it isn't shaving to your standard. Should be once every 10 to 15 shaves, but ymmv. Finally, don't get stones when you nt to hone your razor. Use lapping films. It is fool-proof, easy to store and inexpensive to use. I have used films and it works as long as your bevel is set. You can set the bevel with films with the proper film, but why go there when you can prevent it with proper strop and shave technique. Remember, there are many resources to assist you to honing a razor regardless of the method.
