Woo hoo! Went to the bank to take care of some things and the teller asks..."Oh I see you have a rebate available from your debit card. Would you like to claim it?" Now I thought that my bank cancelled that years ago... huh... $115 that I wasn't expecting.. So nice meal out followed by Cold Stones. Yup, a good surprise. I may even order me a few things.

Ugg. just when I thought my ADs were under control...

Guess who just bought another TV Rocket? I am a sucker for Rhodium.

    pssst....iKon...jus' sayin'
two things on my wish list: a Rocket, and a rhodium plated razor - both at once would be fine with me

though I did acquire 3 Gillettes today for less then I would typically pay for one - and in good mechanical order; a good cleaning will reveal whether or not they are in good shape or not.
Got a slim, a LHSA, and a D2 TV superspeed, very very good deal, found them at 50% off!
There were a couple of OCMMs, and another Gem, short one with white plastic handle, can't remember right off hand what they're called, nor can I remember the price.
Couple of brushes, but the handles were in too bad of shape for me to consider restoring them.
Couple of Old Spice mugs. One I've yet to see before, had the one ship on the front (can't remember which) with the words SHAVING MUG printed underneath *, and one of the really old type ones that are taller, but it had a hairline crack and a big chip in the bottom. They were asking too much so I passed........for now.

*According to the Mug Index site, it's a Early Glass Mug 05

    Evening, folks.

    $115? Awesome, Justin. Enjoy it!

I can feel your pain, Rodd. My AD for fountain pen ink just came back and bit me in the checkbook.

Thanks for the great drawing, Micah. Hope your heart feels better.

Jim: Give me a thumbs up and I'll toss in a bottle of Marmite. I haven't shipped your granola yet. I also picked up some pumpkin butter from the apple orchard I went to on Sunday and just tried some today. Best pumpkin butter I've ever had. I can send a little bit of that for you to try, too if you'd like.

    Pumpkin is life.

    Brother???
Hey, the shortened, three letter version of both our names ends with an "m". The third letter of pumpkin - "m"
Sound we make when eating pumpkin - Mmm...

    Very interesting.........

sure, I'd love to try both...just let me know $$$ and refresh my memory of PP, I'm sure I have it somewhere, but...(or I guess I could ask our Mom, since her name ends with "m", and three letters in length too) :happy102

    EDIT: oh, and :happy088

goodnight everyone else who May show up later
still waiting for the pluMber :(

but my tech support call to Logitech went fanstastic - one of the most pleasant tech support calls I've ever had to make:
    * I could understand the guy
    * He was very friendly and professional
    * I could understand him
    * Call went quick since I'd already done all the troubleshooting steps (naturally), including a couple that surprised him (connected mouse to different receiver to determine if it was mouse or receiver was one)
    * I could understand him

    Hey All,

I'm late to the party tonight, but wanted to say hi. HI! I'm relaxing (finally!), listening to Riviera Paradise, contemplating chocolate ice cream and staring at the Thing™. Not a bad way to spend an evening. :o

    Morning all!

Wow, another quiet night. I really thought that this would be the morning you would have hit page 1000 without me. ;)

I am sure staring at the "Thing" rates right up there with Bong's pens. :D

In best Obi Wan voice... Use the "Thing" Tom, use the "Thing"

Jim... Glad tech support went well. That is shocking. You must have gotten somebody new who hasn't learned the script yet. Oh.. mathwise: $115 - (dinner for 3 at Red Robbin + Cold Stone for 3) < iKon. Besides, I want immediate gratification at the moment.

What shows up here on TSD
    And travels through the mail
A thing a thing, marvelous thing, everyone knows its THE "THing"
Thing, oh thing.. it has a mysterious ring
Thing, oh thing, I might even sing

    everyone wants the thing...
come on and get the thing

thanks, if they ever get there, things should go smooth. I know for sure the stopped/slowage isn't inside the perimeter of the house, after nearly a full 24 hours of running no water, I flushed the toilets 5 times before it started showing signs of about to backup, so I know it's close to the street...and I also know for sure my snake won't reach that far, so gotta wait. these guys are usually very communicative, let you know "hey, we'll be there in 30 minutes", or "we've had a major problem that we're stuck on, is tomorrow morning okay?", but so far nada....they get through today to keep my business

Any chance that the city would pay for it if the stoppage is outside of your property?

    interesting story, that is...
when we first bought the house, the property across the street, the side of the street that the city main runs under, had 4 big oak trees very near the main. We had our first plumbing problem a few months later, and called the city about it. We were informed that just 2 weeks prior, a new city resolution was passed that homeowners were to first call a plumber, then call the city.
    WTF???
A bit of hassle back and forth led to the city finally coming out and fixing it, but the next time we did call the plumber, and they determined for sure the problem, as we all already knew, was roots in the city main. My dad and I dug up the entire front yard following our lines to the street, and we knew the problem was NOT in our property, it was either under the street, or in the city main. Of course, they made the statement "it's your line until it gets in the city main", to which my dad swiftly replied "alright, I'll go rent a backhoe and let ya'll fix the road".
"Well, uhhh, we'll take a look"

Wasn't long after that someone bought the house across the street and cut down the trees and had the stumps ground, so that problem is gone, but there's still residual roots that cause a problem from time to time, but we do believe they're in our property, and instead of having the city come out and just run a hose to unblock it, the plumber comes and cuts the roots out. Less hassle, longer term fix, but we're stuck with the bill.
There could be worse things I reckon, but I just now got the call that they'll be there at 11:00, so things are on the up and up.
