it's a 1939 british popular, the brit aristocrat's baby brother.later versions after the war would be called aristocrat jr's..its basically a british version of the senator/sheraton series razors.

It's a long way to travel just to dish out a whoopin', but I'd be willing to take it just to have you both over! Just... bring your shorts--it hit 97 degrees today. Honestly, for me, once temps go past 80 or 85 degrees, weather becomes something merely to endure.

I lived in Berkeley from March to May of 1980. It was cool at night and sometimes foggy in the morning, but cleared up later in the day. I walked to and fo on the GG Bridge. The BART system was relatively new. SFO was so clean and there wasn't any litter or graffiti in sight. My eyes hurt because I wasn't use to a pristine city. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill.

I can read it for understanding like French, but I am not fluent by any stretch in either language.

    Proraso PS Red
    Simpson SC - Unscented
    Simpson Chubby 2 Synthetic
    J3Customs Kamisori
    Myrsol - Agua De Limón

    Busy couple days....350+ posts behind.....argh.

USPS unannounced delivery Thursday afternoon. Simpson Chubby 2 Synthetic - Royal Pearl. Surprise also in the box, a sample of their house branded unscented shaving cream.

Friday morning I needed a very quick mindless shave, so pulled out the Rex Ambassador. 2 'ride the cap' passes with neck touch ups to a slick BBS, no crimson to be found. Finished with Thayers witch hazel followed by a long time favorite of wifey's, Nautica Latitude Longitude EdT (birthday present from years ago).

Today's shave I took a little more time....3 full passes with the J3Customs Kamisori, also a BBS with no issues to report. Thought the Myrsol was a great color match, hadn't used it in awhile, so pulled it to the front. Awesome lemon lime aroma, but the lovely fragrance is absorbed/fades way too quickly. Serious bummer, but seems to be the case with citrus forward fragrances.

What about the Chubby 2, you ask? It's the nicest synthetic knot I've encountered, Clint absolutely spot on with that recommendation several times over. While smaller than the Trafalgar T3, the Chubby is an incredible face & bowl latherer for me. The lather building, water retention, knot splay w/sufficient nice backbone, face feel and even it's lather release rivals any badger knot in my den. I'd dare say....while it's a badger knot in size and it's dyed strands, it feels like a well broken in Omega/Semogue/Zenith boar even on my second use. It's dreamy soft but with backbone. It's a perfect match for Simpson's shave cream. Their shave cream is a true cream, reminds me of Proraso's tube version of cream with it's texture and how hydrated it is. Quick lathering, very little extra water needed, and turns into super slick and rich shaving goodness. Rinses off the tools quite easily, tiny bit of residue.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hold on to that memory. My grandmother was from the Bay Area before she moved to the Central Valley, and she loved it there. She really did leave her heart in San Francisco. She'd be on the warpath if she could see it now. Btw, one of the worst experiences of my life was entering a Berkeley public restroom, and this was in the mid-90's. These days you don't have to go into a restroom to see what I saw--everything that was supposed to be in the toilet was smeared all over everything that wasn't a toilet. You can see that on the streets now:angry019:

Stunning photo and beautiful new brush! Congrats! I have a couple of tins of the Simpson unscented shave cream that I haven't given a go yet. Glad to hear it's good stuff.
