The Merry Mixed Up Month of May!

    May 13

    Razor - 1946-'47 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - voskhod-teflon-coated.jpg
    Soap - Stirling Bay Rum
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Grade A Silvertip
    Post - Alum

And the day comes to an end. Nice day off and my leg feels good enough to go out tomorrow and beat it into submission again. To finish off a relaxing day I decided to pivot to what I call the "detente setup". This was the razor I switched to in the first month of the 30DC after 5 days of butchering myself on the 1918. So, it follows the 1918 now as well. The Gillette Aristocrat. Great razor in every way. I had obtained this from a member on another forum in my earliest shaving days in November 2014. So, when I need to abandon the aggressive 1918 for the Rule, I just went to this one. I've loved it ever since. And, the Voskhod blade is still tops in my book. So, top of the line American razor and a top of the line Russian blade equals detente! (You younger guys can look that term up)

For the soap it's Stirling Bay Rum and the Wolf to whip it into shape. Three great passes of smoothness and the baby is in the house. Can't get any better than that. Have a great Thursday guys!

    100% a compliment, my friend!

I guess that must be it!

I've been wanting him to do it for like 18 months, but he just hasn't want to/been ready to. One of his friends announced that he had spent some time during the lockdown learning to ride, so naturally he didn't want to feel left out! It's a really cool feeling knowing that it's a genuine skill for life!

Are both blade edges exposed to the skin, or is one trimmed like a shim?

    Thanks, Clint.

I guess that must be it!

    Bics are superb blades!!!

    Razor: Blackland Sabre L1
    Blade: Personna Gem PTFE (1)
    Brush: Omega Evo synthetic
    Pre-shave: PAA The Cube
    Soap: A&E Asian Plum
    PAA Galactic witch hazel
    Stirling mentholated balm
    AS: A&E Asian Plum

    Good morning!

Fantastic shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum.

The Level 1 Sabre baseplate arrived yesterday so of course I had to give it a go this morning. Super smooth but at the expense of available shaving angle. Very narrow sweet spot and deviate from that sweet spot and it's no longer shaving. Maintain the proper angle and it wipes the whiskers away effortlessly with almost no blade feel.

    Have a great day!

Only one edge is exposed, James, and since I never shave more than twice with a DE, I get four shaves for each set of stacked blades. No trimming required. They shave effectively like a single edge.

Thanks, Myles! Bought that TR6 new in 75. Did a frame off restoration in 2009! It’s a hoot to drive! I was driving the newest car yesterday. My friends drove a 1972 TR6 and a 1968 BMW 2002.
