    Good morning guys!

    Shavette Shave #156
    Parker SRB
    Rockwell DE 1/2 Blade (6)
    C-Mon Super HD Badger Brush
    Stirling Satsuma SS and AS
    Nivea ASB not pictured
I decided to use the wet method of loading the soap so that I produce a nice thin, but slick lather. Although I got a nicd lather, this method works better with synthethics. For those of you that aren't familiar with this method, you don't remove the excess water from the brush. It is messy, but you have to keep adding soap to get the lather you want. The Satsuma scent is really wonderful. If this is the only soap that I can only have in my den, then I wouldn't mind. Achieved a nice, slick lather and was ready to go. On my 40+ hr growth, 2.5 passes gave me a nice IBSS++ shave with a weep on the chin. Styptic pen took care of it and went on with the shave. After 6 shaves on this blade, decided to in it because it was getting a little tuggy at the end. Finished with a generous amount of this awesome aftershave and Nivea.
    Have a nice day fellas! 20200513_195928.jpg 20200513_195928.jpg

PAA sounds pretty impressive--I'd be willing to buy it based solely on the fact that they named a dupe "Doppelganger". Brilliant! :D

It's amazing how a flat surface and the binding properties of water can make a tricky shave even trickier. Starting to see why a rounded head design has gained so much traction in the shaving world.

And sorry to hear Sherlock got the thumbs down as well. Kind of surprised, actually--tobacco, leather, earth, and pepper sound like a fantastic scent profile.

How do you feel about Skin Bracer? I think you said you'd watch the Jack Palance ad. Besides my father, Jack is/was my "Man Of Men". I have Skin Bracer, and it's a classic, all right.I'd have to give a nod to Aqua Velva though.

A stellar lineup for an equally stellar shave, Joe! 6 shaves and a bit tuggy at the end is a pretty impressive lifespan for 1/2 a blade--those Rockwells must be pretty solid performers :D

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Thiers-Issard Super Gnome Extra
Brush: Brent Jacobson Tamarind and Ebony w/ Paragon 24mm boar
Lather: Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux Pure Lavender
Aftershave: Chatillon Lux Pure Lavender Toner
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera

Fantastic shave! The DG/CL Pure Lavender is such a wonderful and soothing scent. The perfect shave following up an in X3Bar workout. Talk about intense.

Once again I used an iced water shave (lather scuttle filled with ice cubes and water) to chill down the yogurt thick lather whipped up by one of my favorite boar brushes.

The TI easily took care of the whiskers with an effortless three past shave. The post shave feel with this soap base is utterly amazing. I enjoy the CL post shave toner which leaves the skin smooth and refreshed. There’s no need to follow up with a balm.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

Thanks, Tim! When I posted this on FB, one guy accused me of “desecrating” this razor by using it?? I asked him (obvious collector) what else besides shaving with it should I do with it? He didn’t respond. Hah
