    Good afternoon guys!

    It's Favorite Freeze Friday!

    Shavette Shave # 157
    Dovo Shavette
    Rockwell 1/2 DE Blade (1)
    JR #290 Synthetic Brush
    CF Cryogen SS and AS
    Nivea not pictured

Headshave - used the same gear except the Rockwell 6C (6 plate) with Rockwell blade was used.

I dedicated this shave to @jgreenepa Jeff because I promised him that I would simultaneously do a head and face shave on the first day it hot 80 degrees.

Ok, I started shaving my face first. I am a cold water shaver so it makes the Cryogen soap feel colder. Man, this soap is slick, but you really have to add a lot of water to make a nice lather. It is sneaky cold because during the first pass it's cool but not cold. However, the second pass is when you feel the full cooling effect of the menthol. The shavette with new blade did a great job. Two passes with minor touchups gave me an error-free IBSS++.

The headshave was great! I did my usual 3 passes with touchups to give me CBS (cueball smooth). I liked the feel of the menthol on my head while I am still feeling the effects of the face shave. Although I was done face shaving, I decided to lather my face on my 3rd headshave pass so that I would get the full Cryogen monty. Wow! It was truly exhilariating. I washed off the face lather and dried everything with a towel. Did a double hit of the Cryogen AS on the face and head. All I can say is that I am fully awake! Lol! The face felt frozen for a good 15 minutes after the shaves. I am still feeling the menthol tingle. After this text, I am finishing with the Nivea balm. I waited 45 min for the effects of the menthol to be minimal. Have a great day and hope to talk some of you on Zoom this evening. Have a nice afternoon guys! 20200515_152346.jpg 20200515_152346.jpg

Awesome, Joe! So today was the day for the long-awaited nefarious Cryogenic above-the-shoulders shave. Sounds like a wonderful experience, actually :D

It truly was an awesome experience! Unfortunately, it takes work to lather Cryogen because it is like putting thick glue on your face. It is a very thirsty soap and you will not get a voluminous lather ala Stirling soaps, but it is very slick.
