I had a very smooth shave, with a Solingen made razor today. It was a 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Zero issues. These are some of my favorites, as far as makers go.

And a good evening! Yep, I'm a bit early but my day went that day which is fine. Gave me time to come home and get a shave before hitting the camera on the Zoom Meet-Up tonight. Can't have the Czar looking like a bum now, can we. Well, more like a bum than usual anyway. I mean, I do have a reputation to uphold. Good, BAD or otherwise.

Another evening with the Aristocrat and Voskhod. The "detente" setup is still as smooth as day one and just as effective. I chose to use the original 2018 Blood on Steel meet up soap along with the first 30DC LE brush. Great combination and the lather and scent were both excellent, as always. Three passes and I'm near-BBS and that's good enough for tonight. I'm relaxed and glad to be able to sit back and enjoy the rest of the evening.

Saturday looms ahead along with the entire weekend. Hope you can all find something fun to do with it! Make it a great one!

I won this Wosty Pipe in a TSD lottery some years ago. Recently I sent it off to @gssixgun to put on some replacement scales. As a courtesy he did a refresh on the blade. This razor shaves very much like my favored 1941 Russian but when I got it back it wasn’t the shave I expected. I was ready to send it back for a re-do or put it on my Thuri for a touch up. Instead, I decided to give it a second go to be sure. Glad I did. Today’s shave was a great shave. Back in good graces as one of my best razors.

I think the difference was the soap. Just goes to show the importance of a good lather.

Excellent soap. Received as a PIF years ago. Wonderful Rose scent is between light and mid-strength, lather explodes and for me, nice slickness and post-shave feel. No idea how it compares to Dusy Kabinett but I like it a lot better than TOBS Rose shave cream. I had a sample of St. Charles Shave Soap Rose which I remember used Bulgarian Rose Absolute and was an excellent Rose soap. Sadly St. Charles Shave Soap closed shop about a year ago.
