Fantastic report, Paul, though I'm sorry to hear about the cut. The Stirling body washes sound awesome!
Beautiful set up and shave, Mark! I didn't realize they made the General in black--very sleek! And are those flecks of gold in that brush handle, because... awesome!
Beautiful photo and awesome report, Joseph! Sounds like the DE-vette is becoming old hat now. I've only smelled Floid Blue dupes, but they were awesome--I'll probably be picking one of the dupes up once I polish off one of my AS. I'd never really picked up on it before, but that CH3 is enormous!
Well, that tears it. I'm raiding my sons' shave drawer and borrowing their stick of Pharaoh's Dreamsicle today. What an orangey, chilly shave--Beautiful photo and line up, Jim!
Simply beautiful Amigo. wonderful shave recap and photo Primo. Gorgeous photo Jim. Did you see the new Heritage collection release ?

Thank you, Clint! I'll have to go look. I ordered a brush handle from Elite Razor yesterday. The plan is to install the knot from my Simpson T3. Here's a picture of the handle I ordered.
Oh it truly is wonderful - significantly adds slickness to the shave. TBH, if I'm at home, I never shave without it. This specific cube is actually a brand new pre-shave soap from razorock. They kinda copied off PAA a little bit I think. It seems to work as well. As I liked PAA's so much, I added it to an order I had from razorock for cheap . Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk
May 16th Straight Razor Saturday Razor: Scrap steel and electrical tape Brush: DSCosmetic Galaxy Silvertip PS: Proraso Red SS: Stirling Deep Blue Sea AS: Proraso Green Second shave with my MAYhem creation. Shaving with a homemade blade which started the month as a piece of hot rolled steel is a 30DC first. Correct? Either way this project has triggered my OCD. I've learned a ton in the last 2 weeks. It's been extremely enjoyable. Obviously you can grind a blade on a CNC, but it's challenging. I use a 60 grit 2"x1/2"x1/4" wheel. If I try to remove more than 1/1000" of material in a pass the heat builds up and starts to temper the steel. The wheel wears out quickly and is good for about 1 hour of grinding after that it puts deep gouges in the surface. So between the rough-in and the finishing pass I need to dress and measure the wheel. This requires recalculating the gcode with the new tool diameter. In total grinding the hollow takes about 2 hours on the machine plus setup and coding time. I'm waiting on tools right now. Which is good because I needed a break. I'm determined to make 1 high quality razor, but there are reasons people hand grind on special belt sanders. It's faster. I can also see why custom blades cost $1000+. I won't be making many of these. I got an easy 3 pass shave to BBS. The razor is heavy but the thick handle makes it easy to control. I can tell it's stiffer than my full hollow blades, which I like. Now I need a full wedge in my collection.
