I usually read that word without a hiccup. This time, I was on the floor! I think its the lowercase i after the s that does it. :happy102 Thanks, Justin!
Well thankfully, Jim, I am not the one mailing the package out. My pens are quite secure. Tom, after all the jokes about Bong's pens, it was sure to happen sooner or later (note - another i after the word in question)
oh, she's doing a mail-order "service" now, huh? :happy097 speaking of P E N S, I grabbed that "disposable" fountain pen by Pilot ya'll were talking about awhile back. I thought I read it was 3-4 bucks, was actually $6, but then I found it at Target and not Staples, so heh. can't wait to try it out
so many problems... but here is where it really hits home for me. OK, I can see in the near future an extended school year become a reality; however... what never gets mentioned, is that extending school year by 25% will be a real bargain as there isn't a budget to increase teacher salaries 25%... 25% more work for equal or often less pay. Why less? Because teachers have summer jobs as well. They just lost that income. But then again, I am just one of the greedy 2nd class citizen teachers that the rest of the state cheers whenever we lose benefits, etc... After all, "If teachers really cared about the kids, they would pay the state to work" OK.. off of the soap box Did I say that I think I won a lather catcher tonight. YAY!
Ahh... you must have picked up a Plumix. It isn't bad, but I like my Sheaffer caligraphy pen better. OK... off to take the dog on evening walk.. maybe I will get out of rant mode by the time I return.
Yup, you can't pay good teachers enough. 25% increase, hah! Should be 125% increase! Oh, and the lather catcher sounds awesome! Congratulations! Fuzzy Bay Pic?
not too fuzzy... just badly labeled. The main auction pic was a not so great looking 1912. But the 2nd GEM that is labeled as a MM. And the pic doesn't help (poor angles). But the details from the head is a 1901 LC Gem Jr. So not many people bid and not that high. As I was saying... off to walk the dog.
UMMMM PICS OR SOMETHING???? The auction is over throw a bone . At work kinda busy night just sneaking in some checking. Fuzzy
yes, sooooo many problems, lemme try: summer jobs for the kids summer vacations much deserved break for over-worked teachers downtime for us 12 monthers to get stuff done with nobody in the way downtime for kiddos so they don't get burned out already mentioned extra hours and days with no extra pay, certainly not enough to cover the chaos it will cause with 2nd jobs, extra-curricular activities, NON-school activities, boy scouts, girl scouts, church functions, voluntary public service, FAMILY TIME, sports, homework time, fun time, ... just a few rattled off the top of my head, there are many many more. I know it's been talked about for years, doing year-round school, I just don't think it's a good idea at all. Yeah, some students will do better with a little more time, but how about: stop cramming so much into a single year? Yeah, so we want to compete with other countries, do we? Well, that's not going to happen with more days, longer hours, more material crammed in. All those Asian nations mentioned, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but are the kids not essentially hand-picked to be in school once they show certain signs of intelligence, and the ones that aren't are fast-tracked to a trade school of sorts? We're trying to compare the whole spectrum of our kids to their elite...the ones with discipline, desire to do well, shame of not doing well, family involvement, etc., versus our "I wanna be a football star", "I wanna be a singer", "I wanna do nothin' but sell drugs", etc. attitudes. If this goes down, I'll guarantee home-school and private school enrollment goes up. And those students will see the biggest improvement, again, guaranteed. my off-the-cuff soap-box response, there's much more, so please take the box away, please!?!?!?!
