  2. The shave from a Personna Floating Head is one of the smoothest and closest you can get - especially if it’s paired with a twin blade. The floating head is no marketing gimmick. It really does float to keep the pressure more or less constant when you run over a curve or perhaps get a little too aggressive with the pressure.. Anyhow, having just experienced the above I am still stroking my face. Great shave :happy036:

  3. CV Heljestrand, wedge blade
    cv.jpg cv1w.jpg

The blade was smooth with no tug, it did cut but not nearly as well the Gem blade I used in this razor prior. Even though the wedge blade didn't perform to expectations this razor is an absolute beast with a gem blade.
  4. With a well honed blade the CV Heljestrand sits on top of the wedge razor pecking order. She’s the Nordic Queen. :love055:

Still getting to know the Hawk V3, decided to change the guarded blade to a Proline. Definitely ramps up the performance, and managed to get a mini cut because the design allows you to get tight to the nostrils where I was a bit overzealous. Shave Time reduced by use of this blade, and apart from the mishap a super close all round finish was attained. This S/S Hawk is a step up from the original Vi in terms of aggression, and looks like being a great performer.

Get your name down on the wait list, the OC is very good and according to reports i have read is a better option than the standard plate.

  19. Very rare to see a Gillette brand on the Valet auto-strop- I new Gillette bought them out because of the Patent blade infringement. The Valet auto-strop razor was created by inventor Henry Gaisman his brain child razor who eventually took control over King Gillette razor business but the Brand name stayed. Gaisman was a great inventor and had lots of patents under his name. Amazing story over the control of power of one of the largest companys in USA at the time.
