The Merry Mixed Up Month of May!

    May 19

    Razor - Soviet "Soyuz 1"
    Blade - [IMG]
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - @Jayaruh #54
    Post - Alum

One more day with the Soyuz 1 and Dorco blade. And, as it's the third day on the blade, I'm not surprised to tell you that it's getting a bit rough. Nothing horrible, mind you, but by day three, a Dorco (for me, at least) is just about done. However, since it's Tuesday I declared TABAC TUESDAY and used the JR54 so I had a top notch lather to help smooth things out and leave me feeling fine. I will admit that three passes may have been one too many with the slight roughness showing up, and the alum did warm up a tad tonight, but all in all not a bad shave to finish the blade off. Very nice DFS and I'm perfectly happy with that.

I think I'll just shift to another Soviet razor tomorrow. The Mladost hasn't been out to play in awhile. It's not a horrible razor, but not the quality of the Consul. Not sure what blade I'll pair it with but I'll try to make it interesting! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

gillette spoiler blades are the best gillette blades ever made imo.those that didn't like them bought schick, wilkinson or personna 74s..or grew beards.then there were the injectors as well with similar options.gem razors and the like died off many years before..

Personally, I love Texas on Fire, but I can see how it might not be everyone's cup of tea. The smoke comes on strong at first, but then an aromatic cedar-y scent catches up. There is also something playing in the background that I can't quite pin--not cinnamon really, but kind of in that vein. It'll be a repurchase for me provided Stirling decides to keep it as a regular part of their inventory.
