As an Indiana resident... it stinks.. She obviously was not running on all cylinders at the time. To buy any of those medications in Indiana, you have to submit your drivers license and sign paper work stating that you are not a meth lab. You are warned that you can't buy any more prescriptions with sudafed, etc.. for X days. Its all right there in the microprint you have to sign in order to get your drivers license back. Its been the policy in the state for years and they do make arrests. It sucks, but there it is. I am sure in the haste to get something for her sick kid, she simply wasn't thinking. But, this is a state where I have had to sign paperwork to buy a box of matches and fill out a waiver to buy a 5 gallon bucket. Oh you should have seen the looks of horror I was getting when buying that bucket (somebody has drowned some children in a bucket and the knee jerk reaction was to make it impossible to own a bucket).

Do you ever just kick the bucket? You know, so you can tell people you did.

OK, Sausage Gravy and Biscuits in the morning. Y'all make sure you're here by 5am, or no B&G for you! :rolleyes005

And, bring your ID, Justin! Can't have you crazy Indianaians assaulting people or making drugs with my B&G.

"you don't worry about basic safety if you need to poop." So true. My son has proven this many times. And don't ask, because you don't wanna know.

Move aside dancing banana. I have a new favorite icon!

stuff and nonsense! the more we absolve ourselves of all responsibility for our actions, the more irresponsible some of us are going to act. I mean, really- who actually committed the act, the person or the bucket?

Yeah, its like Jim has a new hobby of locating and creating smileys. I do like the censored streaker... and the coffee mug...

Daughter was willing to go on the evening walk with me. A nice 3 mile walk to the park, up a hill, through some woods, and back home in the dark. She did much better than the last time she tagged along. I will have to see if I can get her to come along on more of these evening walks.

okay. I have a semi-long story to relate that I think y'all will enjoy and maybe even learn from.

In college my friends and I used to use the phrase "we don't need no stinking badges" quite frequently. We thought this phrase originated in Blazing Saddles.

And a few years ago my wife and I picked up a dvd copy of The March of the Penguins which contains a bonus Loony Tunes episode in its special features. In that episode, Bugs is taking a lost penguin back to the South Pole. This random unshaven guy keeps popping up and asking for change.

So... I've veen on a classic movie kick recently. Watched The Maltese Falcon the other day. Excellent movie. My wife was sick on Monday so we curled up 'round the TV to watch another- Treasure of the Sierra Madre. And wouldn't cha know, it's the source for the Loony Tunes reference and the "stinking badges" line. It also happens to be an excellent movie. Good plot. Good acting. Absolutely no profanity, gore, nudity, and the violence is tamer than a children's cartoon. Heck, the GI Joe shows I grew up on were much more violent.

So go out and rent some John Huston movies tonight (he directed both Maltese Falcon and Sierra Madre. You'll be glad you did.

    precisely.
but our government can't figure that out.
"let's control guns instead of hold people responsible for their actions. obviously guns kill people; people with guns are unwilling accomplices"

    government benefits from irresponsible behavior.

[rant] Irresponsibility on our part allows our modern government to grow and expand its powers- thus, modern government often encourages incompetency and irresponsibility. Not consciously, mind you. The folks drafting the legislation are good intentioned and well meaning. They do not intend to add to the problem, but "somebody else" will never do as good a job as the folks on the ground who are living life, a.k.a. us. People do make mistakes, and government should place limits on a person's autonomy. But at the same time, it's not the government's job to be everybody's parent. Good government is a facilitator and even a mediator, but it should never be a controller. [/rant]

    great point, Mike, too true

now, to change topic, I must have better movie-selection abilities than I thought, I've only seen 3 of these

I've only seen 2 of the films on that list, and I really liked one of them- which was Darkness. I didn't see all of Uwe Bolls' films on that list, nor did I see the first Alien v. Predator.

So I'm not buying their worst movie list, although I will agree that the other movie I've seen- Three- is an absolute waste of time. It should be higher on the list, too.
