Beautiful photo, Clint--I really like the sweet earthiness of ginger, and am surprised it doesn't find its way into more soaps. Dirty Ginger definitely sounds like a winner. Sorry to see you struggling a bit with the Enoch. Has it always been like that, or is this a recent development?

Excellent shave Joe! I have never had a problem with Williams during a straight shave. The slickness is there, but the lather dissipates that I have to relather during passes. I rarely use Williams because of it.

That's the plan, Gary. I've got one that needs honing, or at the very least some touching up, but once that gets all squared away she'll be my main shaver for the next 100 run :D

100 straight razor shaves using one razor without rehoning is not possible. You would need at least 2 honed straight razors and fot a newbie getting 50 straight shaves on 1 honed razor will be very difficult. I am not one to burst your bubble, but you can easily ruin an edge just by stropping.

    ”May 20--In the Mix-it-Up-of-Mystery May”
    Shavette Shave #72

    Gear
    • Razor: Max Headroom Focus R21 Shavette
    • Blade: Shark Super Chrome--I shaved with a Shark when I first started wet shaving and hated it. Each time I’d reach in the box, I’d breathe a sigh of relief when I discovered I would not be shaving with the Shark. Well, I got it today. And... it’s smooth, and moderately sharp. Not bad, actually.
    • Brush: Semogue Boar
    • Soap: Stirling Glastonbury (chilled with ice water, (4 Frost Drops added)
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Avon Wild Country, Clubman Original, Pinaud Musk, & Aqua Velva (2 Frost Drops added)--the ultra-mix-it-up-May concoction; the tiniest bit of CM, a bit more WC, slightly more CO, and a good healthy dose of AV. It should have been a train wreck, but it was alright. Probably not a repeat, but on the other hand, I didn’t feel like I should leave the house until the stink wore off either.
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave
3 pass shave today: WTG, XTG, and ATG. No drama other than shaving off a small bump on my neck somewhere along the 3rd pass. Half-way through the 1st pass, once I realized that the Sharks could shave, I decided to test them by doing some chasing. The Sharks were definitely smooth, but reaching super smooth still proved to be more of a chore than with some of my other blades.

I’m near BBS, but the trade-off was a bit of irritation. I will say this for the Sharks: they did a pretty good job--much better than I expected. I’d place them pretty near the Personna Blues that I usually shave with.

    Happy Hump Day, all! :D

    72 down, 28 to go!
