Was your last one a "Credence Clearshave Revival"? (No, no one saw me write that, I didn't do it :))

Thanks Jim...I had that Lime as part of a sample package a couple years ago and really liked it. Let me correct that, I had the Lime, but it wasn't of the Glacial persuasion.

    SOTD FRIDAY, MAY 22, 2020

The first safety razors were SEs. I've really been missing my vintage Gem razors. A friend shaved with his Model 1912 recently. Having been inspired, I’ve decided to finish out the month with some of my vintage Gems starting with my 1930s era Brass Gem Jr. Model 1912. Some have struggled with these razors, but with Gems I believe it’s all in the blade. Don of Technichi Shave introduced me to the SS Pella Gem PTFE blades. They remind me of a Polsilver or Wizamet Super Iridium in blade feel, nicely sharp, but incredibly smooth.

I’ve really been enjoying my software over the last couple of shaves. Nancy Boy Signature shave cream is acknowledged as one of the best premium shave creams available today, and it definitely gets no argument from me on that score. When enhanced with 6 drops of M-Bomb, it can’t be beat. What I really like about it is how easy it is to build an incredibly rich, slick, cooling lather directly on both mug and noggin with the Viking Silvertip Badger brush. The shave began with a cold water rinse. The razor felt great in hand, and mowed my whiskers right down to the skin line in the first WTG pass. The second ATG pass put the baby to bed with a VBBS (Velveteen BBS). After several consecutive shaves with Nancy Boy, my skin feels incredibly good. I feel clean, cool, smooth and refreshed!

RAZOR: Brass Gem Jr. Model 1912
    BLADE: Pella SS Gem PTFE
    PREP: Cold water rinse
    BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
    CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Thayers Lavender WH and Krampert’s Frostbite AS Splash.

Interesting, Myles! I've noticed Clubman benefits from decanting as well. I decanted Aqua Velva and haven't really detected a noticeable difference (smells fantastic either way). Glad the decanting makes for a more enjoyable modern OS scent :D

    May 22 SOTD:

    Razor: Razorock SS Lupo
    Blade: Polsilver
    Brush: PAA Peregrino
    Lather: PAA The Wow! Signal
    Aftershave: PAA The Wow! Signal
    Additional Care:
    Unrefined Shea Butter

This soap arrived yesterday, so of course it was inserted into the lineup today. I will say this is an aptly named soap, as I did have a "Wow" reaction to this one. It opens with a lovely floral scent with a bit of a peach note to it, but tobacco quickly makes its presence known. As these two notes danced together, a little hint of a vanilla bourbon scent comes in and joins the party. Behind all of this is a bit of a woody base. It almost smells like I would imagine a southern gentlemen's den would smell as he and his friends socialize over drinks. Really a great scent and worthy of the name. I hope everyone has a great day!

Well-written, Jim. Sounds like a great soap&AS, but I keep saying about PAA, the more they come up with these new names, the greater the possibility they will get rid of some of their "old" products to make room.

This is actually a re-release (along with a bit of a rework) of a scent they had a while back, so like most vendors they do tend to rotate soaps out that aren't selling too well. However, they appear to be willing to bring them back if some demand is shown. PAA has more seasonal scents that many other vendors, IMO, so it also gives the appearance of more new scents than are really there.
