Hi All, Quick thread to introduce myself - I started wetshaving about two years ago and went down the hobby rabbit hole about a year ago. However, I recently ventured down the vintage razor road and picked up a couple of lovely, English made razors. I figured TSD would be a good forum to discuss vintage razors, especially those that were British made. I found a lot of good information especially on the Aristocrat Jr. (which I was looking for quite keenly) Here's the couple razors I've been excited about the past couple weeks. Initial shaves with both were great! Having primarily shaved with a Karve before trying these, I find the shaves quite different and smooth against the grain! 1. English Flat Bottom Tech: 2. English Aristocrat Jr. (Pat 430030): Looking forward to discussing these razors and other cool shaving gear. I plan to find the Shave of the day thread and share some of my shaves as well. Cheers!
Welcome and glad to have you at TSD! Vintage is my primary razor to reach for ..... hard to go wrong with a Gillette.
Thanks all! Used the AJ yesterday and agree, it's a fine shaver! I managed to find an American made Aristocrat Jr. as well - should be interesting to compare the two.
Thank you! Any special razors you think would be something I should try? What are some of your favourites?
