    Friday shave
This was a kinda MAYhem style shave with the Russian DE , which I named Dracula. 1st pass blood loss was more than I like and that was the first time that thing ever cut me . The 2nd pass and the headshave was drama free so I chalked it up as a win.
Used the Fine Platinum soap and the B&M Fern AS that came from @jtspartan . Love both these scents .
Have a good day everyone. I have to get back to the yardwork and start getting the pool ready for the season. Will pop in later. 20200522_182057.jpg

    May 23rd
    Razor: Carbon Shaving Cx-316L ++
    Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux (1)
    Brush: Elite Razor/ Sovereign synthetic
    Pre-shave: PAA The Cube
    Soap: PAA The Wow! Signal
    PAA Galactic witch hazel
PAA The Wow! Signal Star Jelly sample
    AS: PAA The Wow! Signal

    Good morning!

Fantastic shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum.

I picked up the ++ baseplate for the Cx-316L. It has an increased blade gap, from .68 to 1.08 with a reduction in blade exposure. I like it! The ++ baseplate feels smoother to me and made a great razor even better.

The Wow! Signal is a wonderful scent! A lightly sweet peach tobacco. I really can't expand on Jim's @Norcalnewb excellent description.

    Have a great day!

Great shave, Patrick. But wasn't Vlad the Impaler...a.k.a. Count Dracula from Romania? Perhaps your razor should be named Ivan the Terrible.

Love the pic, Jim. That brush is a stunner. Since I started pouring my own resins, I've gained more of an appreciation for seeing them done as well as the pour on yours. Very professional colouring- swirling just enough.

Glad you like the Fern, Patrick. I liked it as well, but the mistake I made was pairing it with Felce Aromatica. It just didn't hold up. It did very well with Valobra Fougere, however. For all of the frustrations I've had recently with aged Reserve soaps, the splashes are different- very high quality products.

Very good write up on GEMs, Jeff. Yes, most are just blade holders. @9nein9 has a few that stretch that description, though...

Fantastic shave and report, Paul! The Sir Hare soap sounds fantastic--anything that compares with Stirling Gentleman is bound to be a hit. :D

Thank you, Joseph. Very kind of you to say.
    Thanks, Jason.
The resin and wood you made for me piqued my interest and I've been looking for another since. This is the first that really caught my eye.

The plan is to sit down and stare into it without going in--we know how well that plan works out, though, don't we? ;)

    Shave Soap & Aftershave

I did sleep in this morning and get some much needed rest. I decided to pull out the brass General for an extended run. The highlight of the shave was the intoxicating scent of the Dead Sea. I just love the herbal dry aquatic notes. Three passes and minimal touch ups caught the baby with ease. The best shave of the weekly far. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
