About a month ago I bought a new Rigarazor 8/8 and have been waiting patiently for it’s arrival from Latvia. Evidently Covid has been slowing international shipments dramatically and I expect to be waiting much longer. I really wanted a big blade and the reputation and looks of the Riga made it an easy choice. :happy088:

But, while waiting this bad boy showed up and I put in an offer that I did not expect would be accepted. It’s a 9/8 “The Celebrated Hollow Ground - For Barber’s Use Wade & Butcher.” Lo and behold the seller said, “yes.” Which made me wonder - did I miss something? Well, it arrived today. While it’s a heavily restored mirror finish the engraving is all intact and there are no signs of any issues. It’s a monster. I can’t wait to use it.:happy093:

Normally I’d have had it delivered directly to @gssixgun for a honing but I sent it to my home to be sure I hadn’t overlooked anything. Now, I’ll just have to be patient as it’s going off to Idaho tomorrow. Can’t wait - super excited :happy036:

She is a serious pimp stick, nice.

Sweeeet! I can verify international ships are much slower now due to Covid.

Great blade Karl! I saw that pop up and quickly vanish... you are fast! Nice work!

    Schmachtenberg Bros.
    Solingen Germany
    11/16th
    1/2 Hollow

It looked almost new, for its age. It looks to have the original bevel, with little to no hone wear, on the spine. This should be an easy clean-up, and honing(whenever I have the time).

    Stiletto "212"
    Stiletto Cutlery Co.
    New York
    5/8th
    Full Hollow

It had a small chip, on the tip, that I rounded out. But, for $4.00, what could I lose. It could use a little polish, but seems to be a nicely built little razor.

    3/4 Hollow. Covered Tang
    French Point Blade
    Unknown origin

I got this one for a steal. It has little wear, and is in pretty good shape. I do like a good Covered Tang, that is all intact. If anyone knows any history on this brand razor, please let me know. The blade material looks like a good quality Swedish Silver Steel, or something very close to it.

Under $10, and a replacement for one I passed along, to another member. I love the Geneva NY steel. Some of the best quality around.

I found one at an antique store for $17.

A little work with a metal polish got the rust but some pitting remained. Took a nice edge and shaves well. I love the look and style.

    Couldn't find much history though.

Hope you like it as much as I do mine.

    ОРБИТА
    (Orbit)
    3/4 Hollow

Russian razor, around the 1960's. This would be a "Rat Razor". But, for $4.99, I don't care. It came to me, straight from the Ukraine.

It says U-S-N-. on one side, and O.A.RosenHagen on the other side. Rosenhagen is a town in Germany. Unknown what the symbols are, on the flip side of the tang. Looks like a Sputnik satellite, going through a circle. Cant figure it out. But it should be nice, after it is cleaned up, and Honed.
