Real nice shave this morning. I repeated with the Sir Hare Alpha(Tobacco and "Vanille"), and the Stoylin Gentleman A.S. 10-15 seconds to "bloom" the Stoylin Synthetic brush(the "unnamed" one). 0:30 to load the Sir Hare. I think I went a little overboard with the "extra drops of water" onto the soap, post "brush bloom" therefore I waited a bit for the Sir Hare to calm down some. Successful shave on all fronts. No cuts, no weepers. Speaking of overboard I did the same with the Stoylin Gentleman A.S., but I prefer going a little over than a little under. That will have to calm down too. Face and neck feel great this morning-Top Of The World Excellent.

Thank you Joe :). By the way, on each Sir Hare puck lid, you see the words "Barber Approved". I like that.

    Williams~~Mondial~~Fatip/Gillette Platinum~~Floïd
Decided to give the Gillette Platinum a second chance.
Dedicated "Primo followers" will recall (I am sure you keep a journal of my posts, so simply
go back and reference Russian blades) that this blade was not my favorite of my
    Russian Blade stash.
For the re-visit, I chose another new acquisition, Lo Storto Originale by Fatip.
This is their slant head razor which has achieved a modicum of popularity as of late.
It's an inexpensive razor (£24) but it doesn't scream "cheap".
The blade is torqued the same on both sides, as 95% of the slant razors.
Once again, my lather du jour was the tallow Williams. The ring around the tub
has reached the state, where it spins with the brush. Anyone who has ever finished a tub of soap---
and I know there are darn few of you out there, :happy097: know that at this stage the end is nigh.

The Mondial is very capable of eliciting a superior lather even from the smallest amount of product.
No lather shot today. I'll wait until the tears subside.

Continuing, I face-lathered the fabulous, fatty goodness and began what would could only be called,
    a stellar shave experience.
Three delectable passes and except for you know where, the baby is in the house.
Finished with the epitome of barbershop juices, Floïd Blue.

Thanks, Jason. Tom crafted this handle after I stated that the original was a tad slippery. That guy is amazing.

Continued to ‘mix it up’ by pulling out another neglected blade from the den. When I first started with a safety razor, I got a 50 blade sampler from Fendrihan. 10 each of Feather, Astra SP, Voskhod, Derby Extra and these Merkurs. Loved the Astras right away (bought my first 100 soon afterwards), liked the Voskhods (also bought a 100 of those, still have 50), didn’t try the Feathers for a year out of fear (much ado about nothing, great blades), was ‘meh’ on the Derby and detested these Merkurs. Found them nigh unusable. There were 8 in the pack, so I guess I tried 2 in 2016 and haven’t touched them since.
Loaded up a great lather and went to town on a weekend 2 pass’er. With so many things in wetshaving, things we thought as a newbie just don’t stand the tests of time and technique. This isn’t really one of those times pers se. Are these good blades? Nope. Are they usable? Yes. They managed to make a blade that is sharp and tuggy at the same time. For me, they are about the same level as some of the low end Rapiras (hope I don’t upset the Czar). Ironically, these are ridiculously expensive as well. Yeesh.
Results were fine, but then again they always are. Finishing with the Autumn Glory was a good idea, as always.
    Have a great day all!

I've progressed and learned to the point now that a tuggy blade goes straight to the blade bank. As for the Feather I did same and stayed away out of fear . Was all to do about nothing. Awesome shave Jason!!
