wow just cracked open my evo bio textbook for the first time... this is a beautiful book, I almost hate to highlight it.

 

Morning all!

How are the den denizens today?

 

They're so nice when they're crisp & new.
I don't think I ever highlighted in a textbook back in my short college stint.

I'm going to be a lot happier in a few hours when I'm home and not bored at work.
Actually, I think I need to go get an oil change in the truck, so it'll be a bit longer than that... but you get the idea.

 

As a gloomy rain falls from the sky
I gaze toward heaven and ask God why
my best friend, a brother, had to die.
He was only twenty-seven when he fell from grace.
A girl introduced him to his first taste.
It tore at his his soul, it burned in his veins.
That demon in him, was cocaine.
I tried to stop him, we all tried to save him,
but there was no stopping the awful mayhem.
He knew those cravings would never subside
With an old .38, he just committed suicide.
So, now I am sitting here, all alone.
My turn to die, or just get stoned.

Just need to clarify something. I was sitting here on the couch earlier about to say hello to the HYD crowd, when I got caught up in this show about interventions in drug addicted peoples lives. I found myself typing out the poem that is posted above. Sometimes the pain of others finds itself bleeding into me, and the only way for me to deal with that pain is to type. Sorry for any confusion.

 

I was gonna say, that was rather deep for this early in the morning.
The end makes it sound almost like a grim toast over a round of drinks.
