Agreed, Tim, but we still feel those protective parental urges, even when they’re adults! He’ll do what he’s going to do while politely nodding at the old man! I was drafted during Vietnam and did my 13 mos in country, and never spoke about it other than discouraging my sons from military service. It was the worst time of my life! My father, who was career military (Navy), was the one responsible for each of my sons enlisting. My oldest, Ben, was in Fallujah, Iraq and Sam served in Afghanistan. Both served in the Marines. Ben was an Officer and Sam an enlisted Navy Medic.

Wow! That's quite a military heritage. I come from a military background as well, but one that is slowly trickling out: my grandfather and grandmother were both Marines in WWII, my other grandfather flew in the Air Force in WWII, my dad flew reconnaissance in Vietnam, and there was an uncle on a submarine in Vietnam. Except for a cousin of mine who became a Navy corpsman, the rest of the younger generation all went in different directions.

That's a Beautiful set up for a budget shave. I find it pretty impressive that you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to get great shaves--it's fun to, but you don't have to :D

I am surprised that the brush handle split because my C-Mon Heritage is quite sturdy. I have the silvertip high density and found it to be really nice. I am also surprised that you found the HC silvertip a lather hog as well. I admit that the lather sometimes gets to the handle, but I work around it by not putting to much pressure on the brush. I have heard great things about the EVO synthetic knot, but I can't seem to justify the price for it.

I hope Dimaggio's record stands forever. He never whined about a blister or sore muscles like todays bums.
Good luck on your 53 streak quest Paul!! I'll be rooting for you.

I understand Joe. Was just ribbing you. When I get everything done on the list she made yesterday, I will dig out some gear and shave again. Wish me luck!

    SOTD WEDNESDAY, May 27, 2020

I decided to shave with my E Type Injector this morning. I was gifted a G Type some months ago, but have always preferred my E Type’s shave. Software remained the same as yesterday. I think I may be becoming addicted to Nancy Boy Shave Cream. It’s definitely not the scent, but rather the consistently rich, slick glistening lather it produces. The 6 drops of M-Bomb don’t hurt by converting it into the best mentholated lather I have, and I own both soap and AS for Chiseled Face Cryogen, Fine Accoutrements Snake Bite, Stirling Glacial Obsidian and Lemon Chill, and Krampert’s Frostbite.

Back to the shave. I loaded an empty Schick Injector Magazine by hand with 7 Schick B-20 Proline blades which I then used to load the razor! Proline injector blades are great! I’ve used the AC counterparts in my AC razors as well, and they’ve never failed to deliver an excellent shave. The Viking Silvertip Badger generated sufficient lather for 6 passes, but I again only needed two (WTG, ATG) passes to put the baby to bed! Today’s shave easily achieved VBSS status and was so good that I think I’ll repeat it tomorrow with the G Type which I find to be a hair more efficient than my E Type. I feel clean, Velveteen smooth, cool and incredibly refreshed!

    RAZOR: Schick E Type Injector
    BLADE: Schick B-20 Proline Injector
    PREP: Cold water rinse
    BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
    CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Thayers Lavender WH and Nancy Boy Signature Scent Cooling Balm.
