Got up extra early today, to give myself some unrushed 'MAYhem' time as
@9nein9 's weapon of mass destruction arrived in the mail on Tuesday. Had to do a few minor repairs, as even though Patrick packaged it very well, Canada Post still managed to dislodge the blade from the handle. A little Epoxy did the trick. Detached solder and 5 min epoxy- What could go wrong? Patrick packed some bandaids, just in case. The shave pic was taken a few days ago before I got the package in, so I just added a 2nd close up shot of the 'New Brunswick Kami'.
Whipped up a great lather and had a careful first pass with the Butterknife special. Not much blood, actually, but I also stopped at one 'with the grain' pass and finished up with a Canadian Rocket. The razor was pretty easy to use, truth be told. The thin butterknife handle made it seem quite Kami like, and allowed a super shallow angle. There was more blade flex than I would have anticipated, as the de-spined SE blade grabbed by the top edge wasn't totally stiff. It was sharp, though- I gave myself a little scratch on the chin after a minor 'grab', but all in all, not much MAYhem to report. The Epoxy even held properly...
Perhaps this weekend I'll try to complete a few more passes with it. Thanks for the handiwork, Patrick!
Have a great day all!
