Heritage knocked it out of the park with this one! That classic DD shape...awesome.
A ‘Gelled’ Boar? I need to go check this out when I get a chance.

Awesome report and photo, Jeff! Tom's handle is awesome, and the interchangeable brush idea is really clever. Salting Glacial Obsidian with additional M-bomb--you are the king of the menth-heads, sir! :D

I am honoured. Not sure I’ve ever been the subject of a focus on here before.

Gorgeous photo and fantastic report, Jim! That brush is lovely, and look at those bristle-tips... very nice. Shame about the soap, though. I can see how just a hint of bitterness might be a draw for some, but too much and it all falls apart. Better luck on the next sample :D

    MAYhem

    Razor: Valet Autostop
    Blade: Feather FHS (25)
    PS & AS: Proraso Green
    SS: MLS Colonia Di Agrumi

Soming up for the month. I shaved with the Scrape Steel Razor (SSR) 4 times, my hunting knife once and I missed a Saturday. 31 minus 6 is 25. So there we go. 25 shaves on the same FHS blade with one chromium oxide refresh arount shave 12. About half way through this experiment I increased stropping strokes to 10 or 15 down and back per day. 5 just wasn't enough. Also I noticed if I don't hold the handle right the edge doesn't make full contact with the leather. So my early stropping efforts were ineffective. The refresh might not have been needed.

In conclusion, I changed the way I shaved specifically to reduce wear on the blade. This meant efficient through grain mapping, blade angle, and skin stretching. The result was a string of two pass DFS shaves with little to no cleanup. This also meant less irrigation. I often skipped the alum all together and when I did use it it was kind.

I picked up a second identical VAS. Tomorrow I will use my May blade side-by-side with a new FHS in identical razors. My guess is the new blade will be sharper but not as smooth.

    The MLS is getting close.

The brush is a winner for sure.
I purchased this knot from Heritage already gelled but Neil from Heritage has posted videos on YouTube how to do it yourself.
    Thank you, Tim!

Awesome job, Joe! Nothing wrong with going back to the lapping paper if touching up the blade gets you the results you require--and it sounds like it did :D

Awesome gear and set up, Gary! If you can't have it sunny outside, you can at least have a Sunny Sunday shave--beautifully bright, sir :D
