It’s the Janus Toggle Primo. It gets its inspiration from the infamous Gillette Toggle Adjustable. It was a short Limited Edition run of 51 examples I believe and they were starting to be delivered this weekend. This one here came in yesterday. Not a bad shave at all but, it’s a lot more aggressive than the original in the higher settings while not being as smooth in my opinion. A bit more positive blade feel. More shaves needed to determine where it sits in the adjustable shave realm..... ;)

    Just the Basics June!

    June 2

Razor - 1959 (E3) Gillette Flare Tip Superspeed
    Blade - [IMG]
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - Semogue 1305
    Post - Alum

90 degrees and here comes the humidity! Wow! It is St. Louis after all. I was beginning to think I'd moved somewhere with cooler weather and less humidity. Nope. Still here. Finishing off the day with another basic shave featuring the Superspeed and Astra. To make it a true basic shave I added Arko, which is still the bargain soap of the century, and I used my Semogue 1305 boar brush. The nice thing about boars are the way they work and how little they cost! Three passes and the baby was on board again. That Astra SP is as smooth and sharp as it started. I'm still comparing the Semogue brush to my Omega 10066. They're similar in size. The Omega doesn't splay out as much and they both produce fantastic lather. The Omega is softer, but I've also had it for a few years. We'll see how the Semogue compares after a few more shaves, but I do like using it.

Hope you had a good Tuesday! Tomorrow I'll be sitting in air conditioning at home most of the day so that's a good thing! Make it a wonderful Wednesday!

So since I've been dealing with this f******g med issue going haywire lately. I am trying to keep to shaving every other day, with the goal of eventually being able to shave every day. Tonight was a quick shave. I still enjoyed it, though it wasnt as comfortable after I was finished. Went a little too fast and have a little razor burn.

    Razor - Special Kikuboshi

Strop - Latigo 3" with Flax Linen

Brush - Heritage Collection Ever Ready 3 Step

Soap - B&M Seville (not sure if I spelled it right)

Aftershave - Lucky Tiger (I learned my lesson about using alcohol based AS when you have razor burn)

I love shaving and hate that my medical issues have been making it hard to shave as often I would like. Hell I hate a bunch about this med condition.
