Stirling Glacial Black Cherry Soap - as all Stirling, great performance. High Menthol makes the scent too close to a cherry cough drop for me to go Glacial again here. Seems to me eucalyptus might be a good add here.

Stirling Tuxedo - I use this brush more than any other. If I am gifting, this is what they get. Affordable, handsome, reliable.

Stirling paddle collapsible bowl - I don't think anything puffs a lather as quick and easy. One must even be careful not to over aerate.

Focus Dynamic R48 1 /2 DE Single Edge Pivoting Head Razor (w/Feather on 1) - a uniquely designed Italian piece that the primary US distributor hoped would revolutionize wet shaving, but not so. It is a mild tool that can deliver that cotton ball test smooth and irritation free shave, easy. It takes almost none of the valued skills of most of the stuff we use yet still works. In my opinion it is the best teacher for learning your beard growth. The final closeness only comes on an true ATG pass.

Proraso AS Splash - I like this stuff, but no parade or fireworks.

Switched up to a GEM for the 'basic' razor focus. This one was in the same price range as a Tech or Injector according to advertisments from the time. Definitely a shaver for the masses.
This brush is starting to break in nicely. Whipped up an exceptional lather in a nice scent and had 3 uneventful passes. This blade is done, I think. The results were good. Not perfect, but more than acceptable.

Bowl and face lathered with one of my favorite brush knots and handles today. Sublime awesome face feel from both from the knot and AoS's shave cream, should have measured it's thickness on my face....just so much fun building the lather & layering it on. 3 super smooth passes from this rescaled Friodur beauty (thanks @gssixgun!). Small upper lip weeper, but it deserved zero attention, faded by the end of lather swiping. BBS results, WTG/XTG/ATG passes. Small application of the matching AoS after shave balm, it's slightly thick for me so it's used sparingly. Finished with a surprise from wifey's shopping yesterday, Giorgio Armani's Acqua Di Gio.

Armani Website description: Aqua Di Giò opens with a splash of fresh, Calabrian Bergamot, Neroli and Green Tangerine. Light, aquatic nuances mix with Rosemary, sweet Persimmon, and warm Indonesian Patchouli.

Great looking shave. Your description of the soap made me think specifically of a Luden's Wild Cherry Throat Drop. Those are great in my book.
