  1. bathroom? for some reason I was envisioning the kitchen....
  2. morning folks. so now my three year old son has the stomach flu that I had last week. not a pretty sight. looks like he's past the worst of it, though.
  3. hate to hear that, Mike. my son's at home with the flu right now, dr. said H1N1, and it is in the area pretty big right now, so probably is.
he's only "gotten sick" twice, which is good, cuz I can't handle the cleanup of that :ashamed001. Most things I can handle, but puke is one I can't.
Hope you're right and he's on the upswing.

Like I said before...yogurt (after fever is long gone)
  4. he eats yogurt every day for breakfast. It works, too, considering this is the first time he's had an illness of any kind in something like a year.
  5. okay, some of you may (but probably won't) recall my recent tech support call with Logitech that I mentioned went very, very pleasantly.
well, my mouse had died. I'd only had it about 2 months, scoured the interwebs for it, for a dark blue Logitech mouse with nano receiver. Finally found one at Dell.com, which was convenient since I was ordering my wife's laptop at the time, but inconvenient since they were charging $5 more for that particular mouse than anyone else, but they were the only ones with the dark blue model.
call logitech, try a few things, determine I'm right that it's the mouse and not receiver, windows settings or user (duh! I do this stuff daily), and set up to replace my mouse.
Unfortunately, the only options were black, red, and grey....ugggh. I love the red one, but I wanted it to match my Acer netbook. Oh well, I chose red.
New mouse came in yesterday...it sure are purty.

Now, I'm no stranger to the 'parts replacement' game...you buy a product, it breaks under warranty, they send you a replacement, you send them the broken one, no big deal.
open box, look at paperwork...no instructions to send old one back. no shipping label, nada.
do I actually get to keep the broken mouse?!?
of course, only the buttons work, but that's not going to do me much good, however......hmmmm, the colored parts of the mices look simle enough to take off - actually, one is the battery compartment cover, the other looks like just one screw..hmmmmm...but I do like the red alot...hmmmmm.....hmmmmm....
I think I'll think about it a few weeks before I do anything, just to make sure Logitech doesn't contact me "where's the old mouse?"....cuz sure enough as soon as I start tinkering.....:rofl
  6. missed that the first time around, thanks for bumping it Rodd...of course, I'll have to wait til I get home before I can see it.....
  7. Yeah... its blocked here as well. I dunno, I don't see myself switching back to Windows anytime soon. They no longer make the types of games that I like (I hate mandatory online games) I miss my old mechwarrior games. The only work related thing that I can't do in Ubuntu (or other Linux derivatives) is use the online gradebook for my school corporation. So what is the point in using Windows?
  8. It won't work with Firefox?
  9. Stumbled upon this fake trailer that makes me want to see the movie. This is one of those films that somehow has slipped under my radar... I just wonder if it's anywhere near as disasteriffic as this fake trailer makes it look. Sometimes, mindless action can be fun.

  10. Nope... the link to launch the gradebook won't show up if you are on anything other than a Windows PC. (GradeQuick through EdLine). However, if I really wanted to run it, I can use WINE and launch Firefox or Chrome for windows... but that is VERY slow. If you cheat and try to just run the application, anyway, it hangs. So I just use my wife's computer or an old laptop when I have to enter grades and can't wait until I get back to school.
  11. Most of the promos for it are basing the end of the world based on the Mayan 2012 prophesy. Everything on the Earth is destroyed except for those who can get to the giant "ark" - the spaceship thing in the promo you had.
  12. i wonder if you could use the IE tab addon in firefox to trick it?
  13. I can try... You access the gradebook through the browser, however, it runs an application off of your computer. It is this application that hangs badly and makes things go all pear shaped.

    :bounce Hey page 1024! 1 computer K!:bounce
  14. ahhhh, there's a client installed locally to the computer, gotcha.

well then, that sucks. until they get it completely online with no local client.
  15. AWWWW give him a hug from Uncle C. That boy needs a toy razor to start practicing with. Work him up some good Colgate lather and let him "shave" He will feel better... always works for the me. :D Hope he is getting better.
