    Just the Basics June!

    June 6

    Razor - Magic Shavette
    Blade - [IMG]
    Soap - Arko
Brush - Stirling Pro Style Synthetic
    Post - Alum

One more shave with the Magic and Derby and only one change to the setup. Just switched Stirling synthetics to the bigger version. Same knot, just bigger. I figured this was about as basic as I can go with a shavette shave the past couple of days so that's a WIN for June! With just under a week in the month gone summer has shown up in the Lou. 94 degrees today (that's 34 for you Canadians out there) and the protest marchers were out and about. I managed to keep myself out of the middle of closed streets and such so everything went smooth. Just like the shave. (Don't tell me you didn't see that segue coming) Three passes to get a very near BBS and the alum was almost totally silent. Amazing what can happen when you spend a couple of days with a razor.

Hope you had a great start to your weekend and make it a great Sunday!

It seemed so. And I love that too.
When I took a vacation in UK hunting for clothes fabric, in November, I trusted British climate but it disappointed me: it was so hot I had to switch to a car with A/C.

But now... it just started to rain! :)

I still remember when I was living not too far from Bluegrass, the damp, hot climate.
Exactly as it is, these years, in Northern Italy...

This morning the market was surrounded by crowd control barricades.
I don't know why, but it reminded me. when I was in Eritrea!
But, there, not yet reclaimed minefields had just a sign. And that was all!

I'm now at the redde rationem and, pressed by decreasing amount of blades, this morning I did a parallel shave with a Kai.
And results left me puzzled, also because I can't attribute that feeling to the razor: the Kai looked scratchy!
And on one side more than the other.

But. all in all, I can't feel the difference between the two cheeks.
I've had plenty of aftershaves: now I can go and get them again!

A great shave this morning. Went back to the twice used Gillette Platinum, set the Janus to #6 and it was on. Wanted a face chiller shave this morning and went with the Florida Freeze from Lisa’s & the CF Cryogen. Perfect combo of soap performance and splash to get one’s face chill on. The Janus on 6 with the GP was still a bit of a blade feeler and forward but, it still delivered a more than acceptable shave with relative smoothness. No pressure with easy strokes letting the razor&blade do its thing left my face clean with an irritation free BBS finish. We’re getting there. A great day and shaves to all...

The Proraso Sandalwood Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #340 Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher with a GEM Blue Star SE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Cella ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
