    Thank you Tim.

Thank you Andrew. I really like the MdC Fougere and Balsamica pairing. I added a couple of drops of B&M Terrorade to my hand before rubbing on the Balsamica. Very cooling.

The MdC soap base has a benzoin as one of its primary scents. Benzoin starts out with a medicinal smell and rounds out to more spice to my nose. I just checked an my Argumes has the benzoin scent off the puck as well. The lemon does a better job of covering it up but its still there.

    Thank you Jim.

    Thank you Joe.

    Thank you Patrick.

Thank you Jason and yes, I do anticipate using the Supply a lot more often.

    Thank you Joe.

I call it New Spice now, since it isn't the original, but at least they have a great theme-SMELL LIKE A MAN.

They do get an A+ for the theme.
It’s kind of like Coca Cola. Coke was just fine for the longest time. Then they tried “New Coke” on the market. It didn’t fare well so they reverted back and named it Coca Cola Classic. But, it just was not quite the same as original Coke. At least to me. Still love it though.
Old Spice Classic ≠ Original. But I still like it.

I guess in that case they had to "try something new and see what happens". Poor Old Spice fell into the "Everyone wants to buy it-that's the new thing these days" bandwagon. Same with my beloved Rise Shaving Cream. Why ruin a good thing?????????

Hi guys! It's a no shave Sunday today!
Since I did so well honing my Dovo Special, I thought that I would embark on a restoration project. I was given this Joe Elliot razor by a friend many months ago. At the time, I took it because it was free even though it was a junk razor. It had a big chip that it was a few mm wide so that you couldn't miss it. So, I decided to see if I could take the chip out in case I want to buy a junk razor on fleabay or Betsy. Now, I did this by trial and error without looking at YouTube etc. I did so many laps on the 15 micron film bevel setter, and it was very slow going. It occurred to me that I should lift the blade at a 45 degree angle and laterally go back and forth. Voila! Here is a picture of the razor with the chip taken out. It was originally located on the right side toward the heel. Afterwards, I found out that what I did was called beadknifing. Live and learn. I tried setting the bevel and moved on to the next lower film, but I think that I still need to finish on the bevel setter. I am looking to see if I can get this shave ready. I really don't care if I can polish it or not at this point. I just want to see if I can make this razor serviceable. Oh, I neglected to mention it has some spine wear. 20200607_161251.jpg 20200607_161251.jpg

Nice work, Joe! I'm sure with patience and persistence you'll have it shaving like a champ.
