Fantastic lineup and picture, Gary! The open comb TTO are some of my favorites of yours.

Terrific photos, Joseph! Great description of the shave too.
Regarding blades, I think I may fall in the same category. When I first started testing different blades, I think I tried too hard to form an opinion about them. The ones I thought were bad, that I have since revisited, have turned out to have better results. I think my technique may have just improved over time.

thank you Andrew, the open comb tto are fantastic shavers but can be finicky if dropped or slightly damaged, its one of the reasons my open comb favorites are the 3 piece ones.the solid bar tto are a little tougher in comparison and have some significant build/internal upgrades.

i agree as well, though i do tend to stick with russian gillettes the most.all feel quite similar these days with some lasting for more shaves than others..derby greens still suck for me though..gave them a few chances..i will say good prep helps the blades last longer..

    Just the Basics June

    Tuesday's Shave

La Toja Tuesday was a great start to the day. My skin feels so nice afterwards and I LOVE the scent. For what is an OTC brand in Europe, it really gives me great results. Two passes for a DFS today, again with no irritation.

    GEM Micromatic OC
    GEM Stainless PTFE (4)
    Omega 49 Boar
    La Toja Shaving Soap Stick
    La Toja Aftershave

Man, Gary--you get some great contrasting shots with clouds. That Senator looks awesome, as does the brush.

Fougere scents are strange for me. Initially I'm pretty 'meh' about the scent, but once the top notes clear away and the earthy oakmoss steps up, I love them. Glastonbury is exactly like that--all lavender and noise to begin with, but 10 minutes later it's amazing. Used it three hours ago this morning and still smell awesome :D
