I am very fortunate, Tim, that for the most part SWMBO doesn't really comment at all about shaving gear, parcels, etc. I keep the razors and brushes out in the open in the en suite on a rack I built for the purpose and still no comments. She knows that some stuff has come via trade for turnings anyway. The software is kept in the cabinet under the sink, though. While I joke that it is to hide the evidence, it is more about keeping the clutter down.
I will get feedback about scent once in a while, but usually only then when it is a real fave or the rare 'you smell like a--' (before I moved my Gentleman :(onwards). The one thing my wife cannot fathom for the life of her is why I take SOTD pics. Time on TSD? No problem. Staged shots of shaving gear? I can see in her eyes the questioning of her wisdom 17 years ago...

I had an awesome 3 pass shave this morning. Used one of my favorite razors a 1955 first quarter Red Tip with a Voshkhod blade that mowed through 3 days worth of growth with ease. 9/10 bbs shave.
Started with Poraso white pre shave. It has nice subtle scent.
Followed by Woody's Shave Soap using a Rocky Mountain Fine Badger producing a nice slick lather. The soap has a nice lemony scent to it.
Woody's aftershave gave a nice slight burn which I enjoyed.
Small amount of nivea after shave balm to re-hydrate the skin.
Perfect start to a perfect day!
Who would of thought you can enjoy shaving this much.
    Cheers

Great shave Andrew. I love La Toja. I bought several shave sticks and 1 shave cream while on vacation in Barcelona last year. The sticks were less that 2.50 Euro each in the grocery store.

    That's a beautiful MMOC, Andrew! :D

It took me a few shaves before I decided I liked La Toja. And only a shave after that to love it--didn't know they made AS as well. Hmm...

Gemini Shave Month (Twin shaves-same set up two days in a row).

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Wade & Butcher 13/16 “Bow”
Brush: Jayaruh 382 “Civil War” Boar
    Lather: Ginger's Garden Obsession Type
    Aftershave: Obsession A/S Balm
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
An excellent shave this morning. A couple of years ago I had Irena of Gingers Garden create this soap for me. My wife enjoys the Obsession scent. I really wanted the Dark Obsession as I prefer that scent, however, it was unavailable.
Additionally, I picked up the raw blade of the W & B “Bow” and had the kirinite Patriot scales made for it. Such a good combination for July 4. Razor represent British history coupled with the American Patriotism of the scale.

The Jayaruh 382 “Civil War” boar brush whipped up a nice lather, easily spread it across the shaving area for three passes. The brush is breaking nicely. The razor took care of the rest easily and comfortably. I did get one weeper, in the usual location, which really did not amount to much. Overall, a great shave. I may have to add the Obsession EdT a little later for when the missus is about to arrive home.

    Have a great day gentlemen.

I take my SOTD photos with the door closed, locked, and the sound profile on my phone muted--she'll catch me one day, and I'm going to get made fun of for it. A lot. :happy102:

Next up in the 'basic razor' focus is the most humbly named of razors- the Goodwill. Produced in '31-'35 during the Depression and usually came in a cardboard box with 10 blades for $1. The 10 blades were the $1, the razor was free. The rumour seems to be that they used up surplus razor parts as they transitioned away from NEWs as the Tech was soon to be the only Gillette 3 piece by the start of the war. This model- could be a 160 or 175, I get confused sometimes- has a baseplate very similar to a NEW LC. Different topcap, though. Other Goodwills have baseplates that are very similar to Old Types. This one is a US model, but the Canadian ones and British ones are different as well. If you like the various NEWs, you will like this Goodwill.
Whipped up a very nice lather with this GBS sample, loaded a fresh PermaSharp and had 3 easy passes that left me quite smooth. The scent is pleasant, but isn't memorable enough for me to purchase a full tub of.
    Have a great day all!
