For me, the near constant use seems to eat through the soap faster. At least I hope that’s the case for me and Mike’s.

Winner of a shave this morning, with P.A.A. Boomtown Bay Rum soap&Clubman Special Reserve A.S. 0:30 to load the Crown King Spindle Duro Tali brush with a nice amount of the soap. Strong sweeping motion covered all the bases(face&neck). No cuts/weepers(always a good sign for me!). 2 fine passes. I think tomorrow I'll go ahead and do a 3rd, as I'm sure I'll once again have enough soap to complete the triple play. But 2 really has been enough for me. I don't see any reason not to give this one a Top Of The World Excellent.

Thank you, Tim! I can definitely recommend the Shovelhead. For its price point, the brush is a good performer.

Haven't hit the stones with a straight in quite a while, so I decided to remedy that this morning.
Took the Boker to the Naniwa 12K and followed it up with work on the Shapton 16k Glass.
Under the loupe, the edge looked quite glistening, as a matter of fact, you can clearly

    see the defining edge in my photo. Naturally, you can't tell if it's any good or not;
you'll just have to take my word that it tree-topped easily and got the job done on the kisser.
Back to a badger for the lather production and the Persian Jar did a very nice job.
I was a bit too aggressive during the loading and did break off two hairs. :angry019:
Nevertheless, the PJ3 forgave my transgression and delivered some lovely, wet, shiny
lather all over my face and laid down the proverbial ground-work for a great shave.
The hollow-ground Boker buttered some toast and sang out-loud for three
superb passes, resulting in a DFS+++ shave.
I have long since given up "chasing the baby" as I find it---for me, a ridiculous attempt.
    As for the "fool's pass",
well...let's just say I didn't give it that name,
    so it must
have earned it for good reason. :)
Finished with a nice splash of Thayer's Medicated WH, thanks again @timabababaluka
and for the grand finale, I spritzed
myself with, what has truly become my favorite scent,
    Santa Maria Novella Nostalgia.

Fine setup and picture, Tim! I came to the same realization regarding "aggressive" razors. Better technique helped me more than anything.

I played with motorcycles growing up, then played with cars for 14 years. Now, my weekends from mid January to mid December (long track season here in TX/LA/OK), I'm behind a camera at various motorsports events....amateur racing, driver's/rider's education events, corporate 'track get aways', and just about anything motorsport related. Over the years I've done motorsports catalog and/or advertising work for a couple of the vehicle manufactures, safety gear companies, riders, drivers, etc.

Not much in with the professional motorsports like NASCAR, Formula 1, MotoGP, etc. That would require WAY too much travel.
