Nobody here at Mayo this evening except 10,000 doctors, nurses, patients, and me. Kathy has been in the hospital for a couple of days. Docs have determined this is the best way for her to get meds and nutrition as she goes through the most challenging part of the recovery. She is doing great, but the recovery process is not easy.

Shaves with the Slim loaded with a Voshod, my 30DC LE brush, and Tabac (the manly stuff everyone loves) have been superb. I finish up with alum, witch hazel, and unrefined shea butter. Kinda missing my aftershave, but we'll be home soon enough. Sometimes I wonder why I shave since I spend a good part of the day hiding behind a face mask. :) It's still a great way to begin the day, and I don't want to look like a bum. That's why. ;) During my downtime today, I dangerously ventured into the Karve website. Gosh, those are nice looking razors. What am I thinking? I already have two packages on the way from Connaught Shaving now!

I hope you all are doing great!

Thank you, Clint. Work is going well enough, given the circumstances. Some long days, but nothing insurmountable.

Thank you, Joe. We have a yearly lease on a lot on a bay on Kootenay Lake, a large resort lake about 2 hours west of here. We’ve had an RV there for the past 5 years.

Fantastic shave, Jeff. That's quite a razor creation you have. Glad it gave you a great shave.

Great shave and photo, Tim! If I had my shave soap in that container, I might mistake it for deodorant...

    Random musings...

I'm set on DE blades and Tabac...for now.

If I recall correctly, Tabac was voted the #1 shave soap in South Korea and Kentucky. That assumes you are manly and don't like granules in your shave soap.

Hamiltons are spiffy tool watches worn by a select few ultra cool types.

They flipped a whole bunch of houses on HGTV today. You can only watch paint dry for so long in the hospital...then there's HGTV and the Karve Shaving website.

I saw an "Eating Well" magazine in the Family Lounge in the transplant area of the hospital. I had to laugh as hardly anybody feels like eating anything there.

@NCoxSTL...I met some folks a couple of days ago from Kansas City. They claim to have the best BBQ ribs. I don't know if they're right or not. I'm willing to make the trip and sample a few to see for myself. I'll swing by to pick you up in a few.

I have wiped off the dinner table in the transplant house (always with an approved commercial restaurant sanitizer, of course) more times in 3 weeks than I have at home in 33 years of marriage. I also get a freshly washed coffee cup (actually a soup mug...see comment below) at least once a day.

A nurse here said it was not a good idea to have a cup of coffee after 2 p.m. I took her at her word. I've been drinking my afternoon and evening coffee out of soup mugs. I am a lifelong learner.

I met a delightful man from Alaska here getting a transplant. He showed me pictures of his past hunts for Grizzly Bear, Elk, massive fish, and other big game. His eyes lit up when he spoke about living in Alaska. This morning I said, "I bet them grizzlies are shaking in their boots and wondering when you'll get home." Without missing a beat, he said, "You bet. I'm goin' after the first one with a jack knife. I want to give him a fair chance." That pretty much sums up the fighting spirit of the folks I'm meeting here.

Very nice, Clint. Did Asha bring that WSP cologne with here from Arizona? I was happy to read that things went well in Florida this weekend.
Great pic, Jim, and that is some serious soap dedication!
Very nice pic and write up, Joseph. I do chase it occasionally myself, to each their own. The splash sounds fantastic!
Both those handles are magnificent, Mark.
Awesome, Joe! The soap and splash sound great.
My mother had a Shar Pei for about 14 years. It was a great dog.
Very nice, Andrew. That stick is one of my fave lathers...apparently the latest rumours of its discontinuation may be true this time.
Stunning greens, Gary. Good evening, sir,
Another unique French shaver, Jeff. Awesome collection.
Such dedication, Tim! 94 shaves! Now THAT is a focus...
You are staying incredibly positive, Charlie. Your support for your wife is so, so important my friend.
Sounds like a great shave as well.

Glad that Kathy is doing well! Very nice shave Charlie! I have said the same thing about wearing a mask and not being allowed to show my clean shaven face to the world.
