the bostonian came in long comb and short comb format from what i have seen on many sites.the new short comb for the most part uses a handle with a more narrow/smaller threaded end.the new short comb in later years had the bigger cut out in the base plate for the bigger handle like the one used on the long comb version.mr.razor's short comb version appears to have the larger cut out on the plate.other than that the only difference between the bostonian and other new lc and sc is the case.. 1930s NEW Bostonian.jpg 20200616_123318_edited.jpg

Awesome celebratory shave, Joe! Sounds amazing, and dinner from someone who knows their way around the kitchen isn't so bad either :D

For sure. I probably could have gotten more from it, it was tugging a tiny bit for the last five or so shaves, but it was minor, it wasnt uncomfortable.

Awesome shave, Patrick! The new soap sounds wonderful. :D

The scales on that straight are familiar, but I can't remember where I've seen them before--is that a Gold Dollar?

Thanks clint! Found it at an antique market for the equivalent of 3 dollars. Plating loss on the head, but the razor itself is perfect.

Awesome shave, Andrew! The Schick and brush combo look like they came in a set :D

I don't think I've heard of Lea soap before--how's it compare to the Palmolive shave sticks?

I have the SS version. I was surprised that even in the lowest "setting" it's fairly aggressive. More low-high to mid-high aggressive, IMO. The aluminum head might be better I think. I don't consider it as adjustable generally as I always have it tightened right down. But then I shave daily.
However I like the shave, and it looks great so it stays on the counter to grab when the urge takes me.

I should have bought a couple of sticks when I bought the La Toja. I will add some to my cart the next time I order something.

Thanks, Tim! It is a Spanish company and Lea ranks right up there with Palmolive. I recommend it.
