Excellent shave, Mark! I love that soap - perfect amount of menthol to not overpower the orange scent.

Gorgeous menthol Monday shave--love the depth of field choice in your background :D

*edit* Aaaand I am so used to writing Monday next to the word 'menthol' that I have completely disregarded the patent fact that it is, indeed, Thursday--I may also have been sheltering at home too long :happy102:

    Good morning guys!
    Straight Razor Shave #183
Dovo Best Quality 5/8 Rd Pt
    Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush
Stirling Bay Rum SS and AS

It's a cloudy LI Day so I decided to use the Bay Rum. The Pro 49 lost a few bristles while lathering, but the brush has a year and a half service time and rarely sheds. Did the dry lather technique and got a wonderful lather. Since I honed this razor last July, this is only the 6th time that I have used it. I have to say this razor is sharp because it mowed down my 48 hr beard in just two passes for am IBSS++ without touchups. I decided that's good enough for me. I didn't get any cuts, nicks, weeps or irritation. Applied the matching aftershave and there wasn't any sting whatsoever. I will take that in a NY minute any day of the week. Enjoy the day fellas! 20200618_090535.jpg 20200618_090535.jpg

First time ever absolutely no weepers or issuues with the RR-W, no credit to the first time use of the Omega Pro boar brush.
I find the boar did not hold water soap as well as the badger/plissoft/horse. Is that common? Could be the soap.

Yes, that's how boars generally perform. It goes from synthetics <boar<badger as for holding water.
