Very nice, Keith. That’s a strong statement regarding the vintage OS.

There were no tacos that night. Had dinner at my sister's house. It was roast chicken with baked broccoli and carrots, assorted pickles and cheese. Good time.

Beautiful shave Keith. Love the Old Spice soap. It brings memories back to the mid ‘70 when I started wet shaving as a teen.

Thanks, Jason! It seemed to work pretty well! Maybe I’m not barred from using straights! There’s still some very minimal tremors, so I don't think shavettes would ever work, but I’m definitely encouraged about pursuing straight razor shaving.

TGIF indeed. Whew it has certainly been one of those weeks and I still have today to get through. My Tatara Semogue boar brush arrived yesterday so after a good bath last night, I decided to put it to use today. I will say that cleaning job from the factory was excellent with no lingering barnyard smells. I went with the PAA Starfish Jelly preshave which provided a cooling effect throughout the shave. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby with ease. I really like using the Masamune razor. I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday.

Tim, not really! The razor in the photo is the same one that I was using years ago that led to a pretty severe cheek injury. My daughter-in-law, a nurse practitioner, was vacationing with us at Tybee, and thank God was able to deal with it without stitches. Even with the weight, there’s no way I could ever use a shavette! Much too sharp! So you’re way out there ahead of this old man! Your transition to straights should essentially be a non-event given the muscle memory you’ve developed over the last 100 shavette shaves. I’m still at the neonatal level! :)

Thanks, Tim! It’s been sitting in my den for almost 5 years. So just on a whim, knowing that heavy safety razors work well for me, I grabbed one of SWMBO’s 3 lb ankle weights and strapped it to my forearm. And dang if it didn’t steady things down! It took me almost 30 minutes to do the first WTG pass on my mug - memories of the deep almost 2” slash in my right cheek definitely incentivized my very slow careful pace. That injury is what eventually led to my Parkinson’s diagnosis. I suspect my progress will be quite slow. But I’m encouraged by this first effort. Hope your day goes well!
