Thanks, Jason! I'm with you on that. With j-hooking, a DE, and careful attention I can go ATG on the neck pretty consistently if I feel the need, but I rarely feel that need during the weekday.

Shavettes are a different story. I can do it, but the time and focus required are not worth it ;)

Fantastic shave and beautiful photo, Clint--love those subdued silvers, and the lichen coated rocks are an awesome backdrop! :D

Thank you Jeff. The primary difference between the Masamune and the Nodachi is weight, blade gap and blade exposure. The Masamune has the shorter and thinner handle. The Masamune solid bar has 0.63mm blade gap with a -0.13mm exposure. The Nodachi has a 0.90mm blade gap with an +0.13 exposure. You can mix the Masanume and Nodachi top caps and bottom plates to change the exposure and gaps.

Thanks, Andrew! It’s my oldest grandchild! Same age my wife was when we had her father! He certainly never expected to be a grandfather in his late forties!

Well, just think of it as a beautiful momento from your sons as he supports your hobby. I will never have that blessing so part of me is emvious, but I also realize that there is plenty of work being a wonderful father. I know that I don't have the wherewithal of being one so it is just as well Anyway, I can't wait to see those 2 razors.

After some surprise repairs on the car and home, it'll be a few weeks before I can get my straight professionally honed as well as the necessary maintenance items for upkeep. But the one and only straight I'll be using for the foreseeable future is this one from the Radiumite Co...

It was a Whipped Dog sight-unseen purchase my mom made a few years back--ostensibly for me, but I have a very sneaking suspicion she tried it for herself :happy102:
