What about XTG. That’s a pass I’m really struggling. The 90 degree hold is difficult for these arthritic fingers. I may try 180 degree tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about the cut, Paul, but I always appreciate your positive attitude!

Yummmh, Bill! Does that mean when I show up in my environmental suit with a case of Hamm’s that I won’t be welcome, or does the beer balance things out?

Dang, Jim, that’s a beautiful razor! Do you own their SE. They are just not available on the secondary market!

When using straights or straight like shavettes I can get a good BBS out of a 2 pass with some buffing. It's far easier to make my first pass with the straight and then pull out the DE or SE safety to clean everything up. I tend to only shave 2 or 3 times a week so the straight takes care of the longer hair and then it's gravy from there.

After posting about Boston yesterday, I had Alexa play the Top Songs by Boston playlist. I'm sure they were all on there.

    Thank you, Jeff!
I don't own the Paradigm SE. I did look at them when they were available but I wasn't in full blown RAD at the time.
    Thank you, Andrew!

    Fantastic Wool Fat shave, Jeff!
I'm glad to hear of your straight razor progress. I think we all may have the tendency to be a bit passionate in conveying our thoughts about certain things at times. It's just being human.

    Just the Basics June

    Friday's Shave

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (E4)
    Durablade Sharp Hi Chromium (1)
    Omega 11126 Omega Boar
    Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap
    Irisch Moos After Shave

Fat Friday is here and I still think MWF could be categorized as a "Basic" soap potentially found in anyone's shave kit. I got a great lather today, after having a subpar one last week.
The blade used today was new to me, Durablade Sharp Hi Chromium. It was a sample pack I received a couple years ago so figured I would try it today. It reminds me of a Derby Extra blade - not the sharpest, but still smooth. Based on past experiences with similar blades, I don't think this blade would make it past two shaves, although I usually toss a blade after 3-4 uses anyway. I looked up the blade manufacturer and on their website, it seems this blade ranks 5th on their "quality" list of their 6 levels. I hyperlinked the website if anyone cares to check it out.

Anyway, 2 passes for a DFS today. The Fatboy, set at 9 for both passes, made easy work of the stubble. Irisch Moos provided the finale and it is one of my favorite aftershaves. I ordered a backup bottle today.
