I may have posted this before, but this is my Gillette Goodwill French Empire Set. It was made in England for the French market. I will be using it this week.

A lot of us would agree that the SC is tied to Autostrop and Gaisman but it's not clear to me how the slot relates to the 1927 patent or to the Goodwill offerings other than the likely Autostrop connection.

Right. Would be nice to know what the "1935 Exhibit of Gillette and Probak razors" refers to. Waits is quoting Krumholz here . On the one hand it does confirm the Gaisman link we suspected, on the other it suggests distribution earlier than some thought for the Short Comb. Adam on B&B also raised the unexpected appearance of the SC in a discussion last year.

FWIW Krumholz does not include the Short Comb in his discussion of the Goodwill razors. Indeed I don't even see a discussion of it at all . Maybe somebody can point me to the reference if I overlooked it.

I'm not saying it happened but if Waits included the SC because he found one in a Goodwill box it would not be the first time he erred as a result. See his Gem G-Bar listing.
