Just bought a Walbusch B5. I won't say what I paid for it since I got it on a best offer but will say it is more than I've paid for any safety razor. This is a rare and collectable razor so I don't see it as money down the drain but as a long term investment unlike some other high priced razors.


My understanding this particular iteration is basically a Merkur Progess with a humpback slant head. At one point Merkur made a version of this razor unless there are seperate maker marks and such the only way to tell the difference between the 2 is by the adjuster knob whicb is removable on the Walbusch but not on the Merkur as seen here.

 

Ordered some TOBS sandlewood and a new razor that I have never heard of [Haryali's of London] it was only $15.00 so no big deal if I don't like it.

I saw this Buffalo shaving brush and thought it looked cool and unusual.



I'll probably install a nice two banded fan badger in it.

 

I just ordered a 24mm silver-tip with the Luna handle from Whipped Dog--having it set at a 50mm loft. I bought a silver tip from Larry about 6 years ago and [for the price] I was very pleased with it.

Just ordered a sad looking Clix with case.

Just something I really like about bakelite razors.

 

I have a couple of them, nice razors. I just need a case for one of them, Gillette bakelite style with hinge.

 

Which case? I believe this common one from '46 is plastic.
