Very interesting hypothesis. Nothing like using the Scientific method. Are you going to use the same brush, bowl and razor each time? I know, the science teacher in me is showing.
Understood, Joe! The VC4 is an absolutely amazing head shaver. I shave my head with many safety razors both modern artisan and vintage, and none provides a better shave than the VC4. I’ve never even had a nick with that razor. If youkre ever feeling adventurous you might want to give it a swing! All the best to you and yours!
Beautiful razor, Keith! The steel layers in the blade are fascinating. The size of the blade has this little 5/8 open edge neonate quaking in his boots.
Terrific shave, gear, and pic, Keith! The modern straights have benefited from metallurgical advances, but there are some vintage straights that have stood the test of time. I like them both.
Glad you like the Cryogen, Joe! I'm committed to enhancing my favorite soaps which just used to consist of MWF and Nancy Boy. I've recently purchased a puck of Haslinger Schafmilch. M-Bomb converts all my soaps to a super mentholated version. I don't like smelly soaps, so the new soap should work well for me!
That's a fantastic looking shave, Joseph--I completely agree with you on the lather. So much water that the would-be peaks fold over and collapse... no fluff!
A few days ago, I mentioned that the texture changed and I am not going to 10 shaves, but most likely 30. However, I am going to get another puck and try my experiment to see if I can make it last without the mushiness.
