I might need to start that with RR Dead Sea soap. The label is not waterproof and I would like to keep the container looking good for photos.

Noble Otter Shave Soap and Aftershave - BarrBarr
Simpson Chubby 2 Synthetic - Royal Pearl
    Osiris Razors w/buckeye burl scales

Meet Odin :lyrtuy5:. Recent acquisition from a BST. Osiris Razors straight made by Alfonzo Terrones, an artisan out of Colorado. Buckeye burl wood with G10 lined scales, quarter hollow, 10/8 at it's smallest width, 11/8+ at it's widest, 127 grams.

Chubby made an excellent slick, thick and fragrant bowl lather with Noble Otter's BarrBarr SS, enough for 4-5 passes....can't stop overloading the brush! 3 full passes of fun with this beefy razor. First pass all North to South and wow, very easily a DFS with how sharp this razor came from it's previous owner. Small set down weeper on the lip edge. No biggie, barely visible with the second lather, gone by the third. Second and third passes were the opposite legs of XTG passes. Finished with BBS result. Lathered a 4th time while cleaning the brush, bowl and razor, and after a rinse, a hefty dose of the matching AS. BarrBarr is a barbershop fragrance (if that wasn't obvious from it's name). Not quite as prominent & sweet as most barbershop artisan cloned fragrances. If you have ever experienced Stirling's Barbershop....Noble Otter's version is a slightly subdued 1/2 sibling in aroma.

Side note....never assume your significant other isn't paying attention to your addiction. As wifey was headed to work (which since March 13th is now just another room in the house)....she said, 'Now, that's a knife'. :happy097::happy102::happy108:

Hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday.

Wonderful shave and beautiful picture, Blair!
I didn't think my wife paid attention to my acquisitions but when I showed her a SOTD picture with the then new Grizzly Bay Biblical she spotted it as a new brush right off. I quickly thanked her for the Father's Day present that she didn't know she got me.

    SOTD TUESDAY, JUNE 30, 2020

June of this year marks my reentry into straight razor shaving after almost a 5 year hiatus. Today’s shave was excellent. Handling my face shave with the Dovo has improved markedly, and for my dome shave I selected a spectacular little shaver, my Ronson Safety Razor.

I’d hesitated in acquiring this particular safety razor because of the reported blade issues. That is until one of my FB forum shave brothers shared his solution to the blade issue. His solution was to use an injector blade on one side and a corresponding injector blank from a blade magazine on the other. While a bit fiddly to set up, once done, the little razor shaves like a dream.

After my shower and cold water rinse, I loaded my 24mm Tuxedo synth knot ferrule onto the T-400 handle and whipped up an amazing amount of thick, slick and enhanced Nancy Boy lather. It felt delightfully cool. The Dovo Special made short work of my facial whiskers returning me to yesterday’s DFS shave level.. Rather than push things.

What I really love about the little Ronson is its weight, 76 grams, most of which resides in the head. What I most like about this little lady, is that I can hold it by the tip of the handle allowing the weight of the head to do all the work. Loaded with a Schick B-20 Proline blade, Madame Ronson shaved like a dream and delivered me directly to VBBS land in two (WTG, ATG) relaxed passes. I feel cool, clean and velveteen!

RAZOR: Dove Special (Mug), Ronson Safety Razor (Noggin)
    BLADE: Schick B-20 Proline
    PREP: Cold water rinse
BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 w/ 24mm Tuxedo Synth Ferrule
CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Krampert’s Frostbite.

Beautiful photo and great set up--love the paring of the Switchback and Lupo! I'll be focusing on adjusting to the Lupo's light weight over the next few DE shaves. It's such a smooth shaver, I just have to dial in the proper amount of pressure :D

Everything worked as it should and I was rewarded with a very nice 3 pass shave this morning. There are razors that give me a little closer shave than this humble Tech, but none have more of a 'is there a blade in there?' feeling.
June was a weird one for me on the 30DC. I enjoyed the 'basics' razor focus and had a nice rotation of some vintage razors that were quite cheaply priced in the day- this Tech, a few NEWs including the Goodwill, a few GEMs and 2 Injectors. The enjoyable focus was balanced with the fact that quite often I struggled to check in often enough or to post appropriate responses to all of your excellent pics and write ups. I have no idea what my focus will be for July, but I am definitely going to make it a priority to be more attentive on here, this great corner of civility and camaraderie. I also want to get to the lathe room, a place that hasn't seen my shadow for a few months.
    Have a great day all!

    Thank you, Tim!
I really didn't have any trouble adapting to lightweight razors. I guess I just mindlessly know what the razor should feel like against my face and adjust pressure accordingly without thinking about it.
