    That you, Joseph!

Thanks Jason! The soap is simply called "Soap", from Grooming Dept. Like most of his stuff, I don't think he makes it anymore. Pretty much anything Mo makes can be considered a Limited Edition. His soap bases are top-tier stuff, including this one, which is a vegan soap. Even his vegan soaps can rival most anyone's tallow based offerings. I haven't the pleasure of trying his newest vegan offering (Nai base) yet, however it gets rave reviews.

I have not. Not looking to add any razors to my den, unless it were a cool R. Saito straight. So far I have been unsuccessful convincing Tom and/or Keith to send me one of theirs. ;)

Thank you Joe. I believe all razors need to have their provenance.

So, let me understand, Tim. A glorious shave is overshadowed by your concern, that you might not be able to replicate it again, or have "peaked"...am I correct...:signs002:
The better your shaves become, the narrower the gap between your best and worst shave. That's just the nature of things. :eatdrink047:

Very nice, Keith. RR XXX is a great soap. I have used 4 tubs of it over the years.

The lather yesterday was a little on the thin side. After weighing the stick, I discovered I was very stingy with the soap only using 2 grams. I can guarantee that was not the case today. I even bloomed, soaked or drowned, the soap stick to make sure I could get enough soap on my face. The lather was fantastic if a bit messy. I had soap all over my vanity. SWMBO was not nearly as impressed with my efforts. Three passes and touch ups ended in a wonderful BBS shave. Good thing I got the shower and shave done while I could. Seems most of our neighborhood and those around us now have little to no water pressure. Sometimes it pays to be lucky. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday.

    Thanks, Joseph!
I use natural light. I set up next to a window so the light casts in from the side. I find shadows make photos more interesting and also helps to highlight the highlights. If the shadows are too much I'll set up my wife's makeup mirror on the opposite side to cast light into the shadows.

Thank you Jim. With all the road construction going on around here, I would not be surprised that a water line was damaged.

Another great Imperial shave with the requisite tools and software. Rose a bit earlier than usual this morning to shave at 5 AM. C.O. Bigelow and Pre de Provence featured centrally as Imperial software selections, as Proraso makes the first (Italian) and second is sourced from Gaul/Aquitaine former Roman provinces. Osage Rub is designed for that delightful cooling postshave feel.

Using the 1 lb Rearden Razor brush with a 3 lb weight strapped to my left forearm was a bit of a workout, but nevertheless with an excellent result. The C.O. Bigelow enhanced shave cream provided an exquisite cooling, slick mug and dome blanket. blanket. The Feather SS Barber’s razor made short work with the enclosed Feather Super blade of my facial stubble in the first WTG pass. Some follow-on ATG and XTG buffing finished the job leaving me with a very comfortable DFS++.

The dome shave was a delight with the Rex Ambassador. Since I entered the hallowed halls of straight shaving last month, I opened up the Rex to 6 hoping that what I’ve learned would stand me in good stead, and it did. Riding the cap led to another two pass (WTG, ATG) VBBS for the noggin with only one slight nick on the back of my neck, a set-down error quickly put to rest with Proraso styptic gel. And yes, my shave brothers and sisters, I was left feeling cool, clean and oh-so-velveteen!

RAZOR: Feather SS (Mug) Rex Ambassador (Dome)
BLADE: Feather AC Super (4), Sharp Star DE (2)
    PREP: Cold water rinse
BRUSH: Rearden Razor 316L SS Synth
    CREAM: C.O. Bigelow w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap and Osage Rub. Finished with Pre de Provence Balm.
