    The Emperor Strikes Back

2 passes using my best shavette and my best blade. How will it go?

    Gear
    • Razor: Max Headroom Focus R21 Shavette
    • Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (1)--broke the last new Polsilver in half and loaded it into the Focus R21 to both validate an opinion and break my heart. The opinion: with very few exceptions, when I shave with a shavette, most blades are going to shave the same. Should have saved it for one of my DE’s
    • Brush: JOmegan boar
    • Soap: Stirling Texas on Fire (prepared and chilled with ice water)
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Avon Wild Country (1 Frost Drop)
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented--now that summer has hit, I find that a little goes a long way. I squeezed out a single drop in one hand, slightly dampened the other, combined them and applied the thinned balm. A nice, light, and refreshing protective layer. I’ll probably keep doing this till my face tells me I need to ramp things up again.

    The Shave
I pushed things with the lather by loading with a pretty damp brush. I got my pre-lather paste, but only barely. I’ll probably keep it slightly drier in the future--it’s easier to add water than add more soap. A super goopy yogurt explosion gave me way more slick, shiny lather than I needed for my two passes.

Speaking of my two passes, I went WTG and XTG/ATG to get a DFS after a few touch ups on the chin. Not nearly as effortless as using my DE’s. Not by a long shot, but I find the process (oddly enough) more relaxing and less matter-of-fact than shaving with the DE. If I’m ever in a hurry, I’ll be grabbing a DE, but if I’ve got the time to enjoy a shave, I’ll be grabbing one of the shavettes

    Happy Day-Before-Friday! :D

Looks like you left a little stubble on the chin bro.

Crank her open a bit more.

    Not Paul, but Bill.

There was a day when I might have made that trip for some good authentic Italian pie. Prolly would have picked up Jeff on the way too. Then get a cheese steak when I dropped him off.

Prep: Cold water and soapy bloom water
    Blade: Personna
    Razor: Schick B repeater
    Brush: Sapele beehive badger
    Soap: Stirling Glacial Lemony Orange
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill aftershave

I was inspired by @Droo78 and his use of the Schick B earlier. Got mine out and shaved away a luscious, cold layer of lather with ease. Just one pass and called it done. Finished off the Lemon Chill splash.

I'll move on to Iced Pineapple for the most part but am also going to use some aftershaves that have been somewhat neglected. Anyway, nice shave, and I wish the same for all of you.

Fantastic shave, Perry! Seeing your past posts with the Type B way back actually inspired me to research and buy mine.
