Jeff, I would be more than happy to Zoom or discuss Our little hobby over the phone. Glen Mercurio is who I use as well for honing and any restoration of straights that I may pick up. In fact, he has two, a Puma and a Martens HDW, which he will be forwarding to me probably by the end of the week. I just pick up a FA Clauberg Copper King that I wil have to send his way.

    JustOneJuly Shave # 5

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Razor Retro Shavette
    Blade: Schick Proline P-30
Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts 26 mm Tuxedo
    Lather: Razorock Stallion
Aftershave: Wholly Kaw King of Oud
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
    Stirling Tea Tree Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Razor Stand: Jayaruh

Following this morning’s I am at the grill and in the kitchen preparing a mini lunch feast for a few friends. On the menu: Buffalo Chicken Meatballs, burgers, dogs, sausage, tomato caprese, pasta with a homemade zucchini sauce and an Olive feta salad.

Now that I have you salivating, on to the shave. Once again, the Oud march through July continues. I have not done a month log Just One since I have fallen into this rabbit hole over three years ago. With some many different software in the den, this truly may become a battle of my willpower.

Today’s shave was a three pass with no incidents of negativity. I left the bathroom, aka den, felling smooth and refreshed.

Hope you have a great Sunday gentlemen.

Three shaves in at 0.5 on the Rex with Personna blades and ARKO and shower or preshave before.

Not quite BBS everywhere but quite good with three passes + buffing. DFS
I found my technique automatically changed to buffing over quite a few places, which I think is the reason the shave is better than I expected. Normally I do pretty long strokes.
However, so long as no there is not a rediculous amount needed or additional irritation or much extra time, I won't call it cheating on the experiment. Without the buffing I am sure some areas would be worse off.
At the lowest settings this is actually a pretty good buffing razor. At higher settings too much blade feel for it, for me.

My neck area, always sensitive due to flat lying hairs and rough skin, actually did very well, as I did not have to forgo extra passes and could even to a bit of ATG light buffing. Normally 45 degrees XTG is best I can normally hope for.
Normally neck often gets PPS (piss poor shave, is that a real term?) actually CCS, or SAS but if I sense irritation I stop, so this is better than typical actually than with a more aggressive razor.

Next up 3 days at 1.0. face WTG/XTG and ATG (+buff?) and head. XTG. ATG,ATG at back and WTG/XTG/AGT top + buff different directions where swirly
Will keep going in .5 increases unit I see what it it takes for BBS or at least DFS in two passes. W/XTG + ATG without unacceptable irritation or nicks. Then I'll try descending or mixed order on passes.
My expectation is that for my face I won't get past three passes at lower settings.
No changing of setting allowed at this point.

I did get the Rex so I could get the ideal shave for both head and face with the same razor.

I just looked at Dixie. That is a interesting scent profile. Growing up a country boy in the south, I am familiar with most of the scents listed.
