My next "Experimental Cold-Weather Shave Combination" is up(probably for use later this week.). The PAA Boomtown Bay Rum, with its "pardner"...Clubman Special Reserve.

    Wonderful shaves, Tim!
When the Lupo comes up in the rotation I'll definitely try riding the safety bar.

If you mean the puddle in the middle of your puck, then you added too much water all at once. Generally, I just have a slightly damp brush and just load enough soap where it is pasty. At that point, paint your face with the pasty soap. At that point, add water only at the tips. I use a cup of water to dunk the brush so only the tips touch the water's surface. Paint the face again and repeat these steps until you have a nice hydrated lather that will not fade. You can add more soap to the brush if you need to do so, but you don't need a whole lot since you should have enough soap on your face. The end result will be a slick lather so your razor easily glides to give you a smooth shave. Good luck!

Great shaves, Tim! I am glad to see that you, Jim and Clint have seen the light of shaving with the bar as well as the cap. Shaving with the bar gives a larger angle of attack and therefore a lighter touch is imperative.

Thank you Tim. I’m not sure what the mechanics are that make it work but it does. According to @jluc the Dart works the same way.

Joe, I don't have a site, nor do I consider myself a 'pro' brushmaker. By the textbook definition of the word, yes, I have been compensated to make bowls or brushes, but that in itself needs an explanation.
When I joined TSD in the winter of 2016 and saw all the great brush handles posted, I thought to myself 'I can do that' and dusted off my lathe which hadn't seen much usage in years. I made a few (and pitched a few) and posted pics in some SOTD photos. A few months later, I ended up doing the original 2017 LE brushes for those on the thread. I did them because I wanted to, and just recovered the cost of materials and shipping. I ended up making a matching bowl for the brushes. After that, some folks who had the brushes started asking me about the possibility of getting the bowls or other brushes made. I was initially reluctant, as I only wanted to do this as a hobby and certainly didn't consider myself a pro. I also didn't want to just give everything away, as I wanted folks to be respectful of my time. It morphed into trades for software or hardware in return for turnings when people asked for stuff. I was still very much a newbie at the time and it allowed me to try some different stuff as well. I did turn down a few offers to just buy a brush. I never wanted to be held to a business arrangement with my friends on here for something I just wanted to do because I enjoyed it. I have a busy enough job without feeling any pressure to keep up with an order. Other brushes I just PIF'ed because I wanted to. Others I just gave away to folks.
Fast forward to last spring, and Neal asked me to make a Meet Up Brush. Those I did take some money for, given the volume of brushes and the time commitment. I have taken one or two arrangements with a few dollars exchanged for materials since, but have really resisted 'expanding' anything beyond the 30DC or starting a business per se. I did list a few brushes on the buy/sell thread last year that were for the price of materials and shipping, but ended up pulling them down. Just not my thing. My work has definitely gotten better over the past few years, and I have experimented with different materials (and pouring resins) as time has gone on. I do like trying new things via design, process, product or materials.
    Hope this makes sense.
PS- most all of my brushes, lather bowls and lidded soap bowls are in the hands of 30DCers (or raffle recipients), so you can see them on this thread, or on the Brushmakers Forum.

I agree, Clint. I am very fortunate to be living in a beautiful part of the country.

The soapy liquid just stays there while the puck isn't in use. Your "cup of water" idea might work.

SWMBO left with her son and his girlfriend for a week’s vacation on Cape Cod minus your humble narrator. I’m keeping company with Gromit, my faithful dachshund buddy, in the Philly burbs. I will miss SWMBO, but am excited at the prospect of a week with my favorite fragrances.

Another great shave today! Did the face with the Feather SS folding Barber’s Razor loaded with a Feather Super Blade. Very pleasant DFS++ with some residual stubble around the Adam’s Apple. The Shake Sharp cleaned things up on the mug and again delivered its usual velveteen BBS noggin job. I feel refreshed, clean and velveteen!

RAZOR: Feather SS Barber’s Razor (Mug), Shake Sharp Model 1.5 (Noggin)
    BLADES: Suneko Stacked
    PREP: Cold water rinse
    BRUSH: Kent Infinity Synth
    CREAM: Palmolive w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with Glyce Glycerin soap followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished withMentholated Mysterium Serum.
